What a nice Mailman. I hope Puck’s photo comes out right this time! (And awww, that third panel. Look at them all – those smiles – the Girl included! I love it!)
Wait. Did Puck just get photographic evidence? Is there a memory card in there? He must have power because the flash went off. He doesn’t have it turned the wrong way around, if there’s memory, there’s evidence.
Well, evidence of a man in a mask carrying a bag that probably contains mail.
Hmm. Well, incomplete evidence is still a good start if he’s to prove the existence of the mythical Mailman.
I want to know how the Legendary Mailperson rescued Beatrix. Sweet little Beatrix, all tuckered out after being so long up in the tree…….Sleep well little cat child.
Panel 3 – looks as though the Woman changed her mask and then back in Panel 5. It doesn’t really matter, Be a has been found, and yes, how did the mailman get her down. He climbs trees? or just tall enough to reach her?
Panel 2 Beatrix is just so content. I am eager to see her reunited with Trevor. And to tell of her adventures at rapid pace. And to credit the woodland helpers.
I just hope he wasn’t using flash, the window reflection would white out the image. If it’s autofocus, it might focus on the window instead. Always take backup shots from various angles and suppress flash where possible. (Or have the mailman send you a postcard of himself.)
FYI, Georgia posted that they now have the individual interviews up from NCS Fest if you haven’t see Georgia’s yet and want to get to it easier, https://ncsfest.com/.
I knew the ending of this arc was going to make me happy, but I’m so happy for sweet Puck getting to bond with the mailman that I may have slightly misty eyes. Everything about this strip—Bea’s little Zzzzs, the girl and cats in the window, Puck’s perfect toe beans—makes me smile. Thank you Georgia!!
National Checkers Day —Okay, but what are the national checkers checking? And is this legal, or an abrogation of our rights? I’ve always been suspicious when someone says, “Crown me.”
International Day of Sign Language —Certain gestures seem to have nearly universal meaning … especially in international relations.
Celebrate Bisexuality Day —I really don’t understand what all the fuss is about. I mean, we have only two. The Venusians, according to William Tenn, have seven. You’d think we could work out relations between just a measly two. (Yes, I know that with LGBTQ et al we are working on a vastly expanded and complex number, probably involving the square root of -1. How you “identify” is, and should be, none of my business unless one of us asks the other for a date. You see, I practice that most endangered of American virtues: TOLERANCE.)
National Great American Pot Pie Day —No, not another way to get high, though I’m sure someone will make them with cannabis, if they haven’t already. Although similar to “meat pies” the term distinctly American, and good ones are “rare fine ballast for an empty stomach.” In truth, savory pies, or pie-like creations, date to ancient times, and probably to the first use of flour. Now I’m hungry.
National Dogs in Politics Day —They could certainly do at least as good a job as the incumbents. Any pooch for President! (I have a button that says "Any turkey for President!’ but we’ve already done that, multiple times over, and I’m all for equal representation.
Innergize Day —This is the day to set some time aside just for yourself, do what you want to do, rather than what you think you have to do. I was supposed to do this yesterday, so I’m doing it today. Hope you can do the same.
Beatrix has crashed in the Woman’s arms, Puck has been vindicated, the Mail Man has been verified, and there’s a party on the porch! All in all, a perfect ending.
squints in sudden realization. GD has just been waiting for an excuse to draw the Man, the Woman, and the Children with cat faces hasn’t she? Well call me a kitten and paint a silver lining on those clouds. :3
I’ve named a trope after Beatrix. In many stories about a group of humans or others who work together there’s often a young energetic novice who, in spite of being cheerful and kind, us obviously going to be running things soon. I call that one the Beatrix the Kitten Intern. On recent TV shows the Bea is usually female.
Maybe Bea’s Woman will meet the mailman to thank him for saving Bea, and a romance will develop so that Bea and Trevor can have their own Man (or is Bookstore Woman already married)?
I want to know exactly how the mailman got her down! Enquiring minds want to know! C’mon Burt, give us some of that great b-roll you always have stashed away. ;)
Who is the friend who is on the way? Bea is owned by the family, right? With Puck and the others. Oh wait. the lady talking has red hair, and the heroine has brown hair, right? I get confused easily.

A fuzzy photo of a masked man in a blue shirt doesn’t do much to prove the existence of the supernatural being known as The Mailman.

Moody Blues: The Voice
Won’t you take me to my home?
I took a long time to go and roam,
Climbing high up in a tree,
…….
Oh, won’t you please rescue me?
Oh, can you hear me?
Oh, can you take me back home?
Tonight!
…….
Each and every friend can hear,
They are concerned, that’s very clear,
Thimble Fist and Homestyle are here,
Old friends and new are very dear!
…….
Oh, won’t you please rescue me?
Oh, can you hear me?
Oh, can you take me back home?
Tonight!
…….
A mythical being’s here, I perceive
I’m no skeptic now, I do believe,
The fine letter carrier,
Is bringing me back to all of you!
I’m afraid of falling,
But I know that you’re all out there,
And you’re there for me, it’s true
I know you exist,
And I know that you’ll come through!
…….
Carry me to my best friends’ home,
I know that I won’t be alone,
Right now I am done with trees,
What I need now are lots of ZZZZZZZZZZZ……
…….
Oh, thanks for rescuing me!
Oh, I am safe now!
Oh, can you take me back home?
Tonight!
Tonight!
