The Robber Mice are off to join Queen Mag. We all know that spells DOOM for Wicket and his moles.

With the Robber Mice going to help the raccoons along with Mona and the Underground Mole Resistance Cell as well as the secret weapons found by Princess Magazine and Beatrix the balance of power in this conflict is quickly shifting. The side of good may yet prevail over the chaos of Montague Mole and his Evil Puppet Master Wicket the Wicked!

It’s kind of amazing how the situation has developed, especially given past history between the cats and the raccoons. Kudos especially to Goldie, given how Queen Mag originally treated her. It’s neat to see amity and reconciliation.

Natasha has certainly gotten a lot of mileage out of those cactus spikes! If Agnes is going along as an embedded reporter, she’s going to need some camouflage or protective gear. Her pretty in pink reporter duds won’t work in a war zone.

Hellfire is settling in just fine. He is now sleeping on my bed with the dogs and cats and me. He grabs my feet regardless of movement on my part. He has decided that the TV on NAT GEO Wild is pretty cool too, he will watch many different channels though. Canned food and wand toys seem to have won him over. He is my Siamese’s mini me. Where goes one goes the other.

Is Agnes going with Natasha, Violet and Alice? Because if she is – that suit looks too nice to go into the woodlands on an embedded trip and reporting.

    George M. Cohan: Over There

Animals in the wild, prepare for war, for war!

Don’t ever back down, give the moles what for!

    Come and heed Natasha’s call

To the wilds, one and all,

    Hurry, don’t delay,

Join the fight now, right away!

    …….

Go out there, go out there

Come and join in the fight, go out there!

We’ll endure the trial of fighting in the wild

Let’s all help Queen Mags with a smile!

    Right away! Join the fray!

Show the moles who is boss, right today!

We’re gonna fight them, we’re gonna beat them!

And we will not stop ‘til it’s over way out there!

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

Beatrixia: Hey, guys! I think I found something!

Iggy: Great, scrolls in the 643s!

Wally: Here’s a classic: Scroll Readers’ DIY Guide to Pyramid Repair!

Iron Glove: And here’s one from Deck and Black on Home Repair.

Bea: Here’s one that is a necessity: How to Make Repairs After A Tortie Has Been Running Wild.

Iggy: We’re going to have to do some research. I think I’d like to do a classic project.

Iron Glove: Sounds like a plan.

Wally: Or at least a plan for a plan.

    Meanwhile, Back at the Palace

King Cadbury from Away: I greet Your Majesty, Queen Catshepsut of Egypt. I am King Cadbury, descendant of the ancient king, Almon-Joybar.

Queen Catshepsut the Golden: It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty. I knew that we had an ancestor in common.

The King: It has been too long since our last meeting. I have heard of the wondrous discovery of a new pyramid. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but has great treasures within.

The Queen: That is so, Your Majesty. I have a group exploring the pyramid as we speak. We have the renowned librarian, Beaver Lee Cleary joining the expedition.

The King: I would like to offer the services of my people to assist in your exploration. In fact, I am hoping you would let us join in an exchange program. Your artisans are without peer, and I am hoping I could send some of my artisans to learn from them.

The Queen: I would love to discuss creating an exchange program. My Royal Chef, Thomios has prepared a sumptuous banquet where we can discuss this further.

The King: I am most pleased to accept.

The restored version of Spartacus with Kirk Douglas was on TCM last night. It’s a 3 hour and 29 minute movie, and it didn’t take as long as this story line for the plot to develop.

The call has gone out. The warning fires of Amon Lontir, Nendath, Maegond, the Fallen Beacon, Eilendoth, Dol Brannor, Anglebed, Sirthanc, and Minlos have been lit. Armies of the wild lands are assembling. The Battle of Pelennor (aka – the chicken coop) will soon be upon us.

OK, as an old lady who has trouble remembering, I’m gathering, from hints by commenters that the mice on the far right are, from left: Agnes, Alice, Natasha and Violet. Is this correct? I think I won’t be able to tell Alice from Violet in lest they are both in the same cel, as the only difference I can see is that Violet is quite a bit smaller than Alice. Are Violet and Alice the Sisters?

The mice are very wise – when people start noticing moles, they deploy traps and poisons, which are bad news for all of nature.

Sorry, Robin. I’ve removed my comment. I posted it not long after I went to bed, and just got up for work, so . . . couldn’t remove it when you asked it of me. I thought it might be too political—should have gone with my gut instinct. I promise never to post anything like that again.
