Voting on the best dress design runs today (not live yet on luannfan.com, btw) until October 17th, so we have a bit of a wait yet.

My S-i-L found her dress on the first try. It happened pretty much like in the strip, she walked in, saw a dress she loved, put it on, and it was perfect.

Does anyone else feel as if they should protest the 500 character limit, by posting the same 10 letter word 50 times? >X

I might be pedantic, or taking the contest too seriously (:p), but could have added that entries had to be sketched to apply (or similar proof of having done it yourself).Also interesting how so many are going for the same looks in their sketches.

I really like the idea of getting involved with choosing Toni’s wedding dress. I was not surprised Luann broke up with Quill…didn’t expect to see him again, so I was surprised when he re-appeared. One doesn’t find a wedding dress on a whim. There is a procedure. If done correctly, the perfect dress will say, “I bought this in a Barn from a woman who looks like a cross-dressing Charlie Brown.”

I’m looking at Greg’s choice of fitting room numbering labels, and thinking maybe there’s a not-so-subliminal message there. Think 1977 Bob Marley or 1989 Stone Roses. ONE LOVE.

I was really looking forward to an anquished “ACK!” from the dressing room a’la Cathy.

Told ya! She’s able to just look at her first choice and nail it. I’m pretty much the same, although I’m pretty much willing to try on a few more just to ensure myself it’s right, I’m 99.9% sure the first time out of the box. My DD did the same with her wedding dress. Had it picked out and then we looked at about 6 more in 3 more shops before we went back and bought the one she had initially put at the top of the list.

Since the winning dress has yet to be picked, Toni must still be in her skivvies, which would be something to marvel at, I imagine. Sorry, dirty old man surfaced there. Of course she is in a lovely Bridal Gown, and I am all aflutter.

Well, the Bride makes the dress and Toni is pretty perfect. Of course, it will be a lucky reader to design it!

Has anyone else noticed that the only people in Luann’s world that have a sclera are Luann and her mom? Everyone else has beady little pupils only. Is Luann some kind of mutant, inheriting the sclera mutation from her mother?

Best to you in that situation Argy2. We were personally out of power for a week after Superstorm Sandy. Lived in many layers of clothing. Used battery lanterns and Mighty Bright battery lights (which i prefer to the lanterns we have). I really hope you are not without power for more than three days since it becomes quite uncomfy. (At least the bread, nuts, fruits, crackers, and a few canned things were tasty. LOL!).

When i was a kid we used to lose water during hurticanes in my area. Not just people w wells but no hand pump, but also people on the public system. We kept extra buckets for flushing water, and pots of water for other uses. I can not recall there being bottled water then. We were allowed to have soda pop then despite it not being a party, and us not sick.

LOL! Imagine if some posters were right and Cathy owns the store. After the sale she asks Mabel which multithousand dollar gown they bought and how much in alterations. Mabel answers that it was a sale gown which fit exactly: just perfect. Now it is time for Cathy’s “Ackkk!”

Multiple apologies, little in the way of user friendly clarifications. If they are trying to illustrate how to work w/in the limits they offer their own poor examples. Back to white sclera: perhaps GE originally created in an unconscious move to make their actions more meaningful to readers. I wonder why the saleswoman looks so unhappy about the dress being perfect. Especially if she works on commission, her goal should be to make a sale, not to have Toni try on dress after dress for hours. If Toni tried on 20 dresses, that would be 20 dresses that the saleswoman or another employee would have to spend time hanging up again.

Not liking the contest submissions…Greg REALLY should have done his research and thumbed through a few Bride’s magazines for inspiration.
