Bernice is doing all this to go on a double date with Nil? Maybe, but I doubt it. I don’t think she likes him, didn’t he take a sip of her drink in an earlier panel. My memory is probably wrong, but I do think something like that happened. I think that her plan is to get Piro to come to the date. Again I could be wrong, but why be so excited, and so concerned about how she looks and the image she is showing. They’re all fine except fpor “fun & flirty” which would be completely ridiculous for bowling. (Not to mention that she hardly knows her date.)

Bernice in heels? Have we seen much of that? It’s bowling and a casual date. Go with #2 or #4. Nil doesn’t strike me as a guy who is going to dress up and you shouldn’t over-dress your date too much.

Option 4’s top and bottom are the opposite colors of what she is wearing now so go with either one or the sporty because bowling is a sport. NO heels and NO hat and the casual classy’s beaded belt will get in the way. Boobs will fall out when bending over in the fun n’ flirty.

Ridiculous. Bernice doesn’t have that many clothes and has never in her life worn anything “fun and flirty….” She’s as plain as a glass of lukewarm water, and about as pleasant …. which is to say not at all pleasant….

At the café, Bernice confessed to ‘overthinking’ things – annnnd after that, here we go again … ah, creatures of habit.

The style of shoes won’t matter, since she’ll have to change them once they all get there. There isn’t a bowladrome in the U.S.A. (don’t know about the rest of the world) that will let you bowl in your street shoes. The reason for that is they don’t want people tracking in the rocks and dirt their shoes pick up from outside because they can cause damage the lane area.

Quite a sudden reset for Bernice. Where did that dress come from? Has she ever worn it before? Has she ever even wanted to wear it? I don’t ever recall here wearing anything but “basic neutral”.

This is troublesome. I recall Bernice spending 7 minutes in the bathroom sprucing herself up for Piro (who was waiting for her class notes) and then realizing that she just needed to be herself. She then wiped off the make up. She’s doing the same thing again now. I also notice that in all of this double date planning, she never mentions Nil by name, almost as if she doesn’t realize that the date is with him. In the texting, it sounded like she heard the words ‘double date’ only.

At least Lu and Bern aren’t spending a week at Kafe Kablooie talking about their feelings about the upcoming date.

I’m surprised Bernice didn’t include a selection of underwear to go with her outerwear. Afterall a successful date ends with the removal of the underwear…

Once again we have Bernice overreacting, overinterpreting. Interestingly, this is the kind of thing Luann would have done in the past (Bern may be trying to emulate) but she’s more relaxed now. The last time we saw Luann obsessing over how to dress was the night before her 1st day at Pitt College. But when she got there (all dressed up) she realized everyone was wearing jeans and T shirts; Since then I don’t think I ‘ve seen Luann in that compulsive ’what to wear’ mode. I recall when they went to New York, Luann packed all sorts of provocative outfits while Bern announced that she was bringing ‘sensible’ clothes. The tables are turned now.

One thing I’ve observed is that seldom do guys try this hard to look good for their dates.

Yup, I say for bowling go with the “Sporty, but Nice” :)
