Nah, I don’t think a rich guy looking for a hot babe who is AVAILABLE to meet his needs (jailed lookers need not apply) would waste time Facetiming a soon-to-be former lover. But I’m still not clear on how Tiffany will ensure that Ann lands in the slammer…
NEWS FLASH !!! Don’t be so sure there Tiff, if it ever comes to it, and I doubt that it will, your Dad’ll probably bankroll her defense, and what are you gonna do? Be star witness…or more to the point, star WITLESS … for the prosecution? Dear girl, if you think you have family problems now, just wait till you start down that particular road.
1. The questions on whether Ann saw pictures at the Farrell residence has been answered. 2. In Dez’s room many strips back, Tiffany said she had several phones. 3. Ann grabbed one which Tiffany facetimed her to Simone (Simone still has the other end). 4. She has more in her pockets recording her. 5. Ann thought she grabbed the only phone and she was safe and at the home plate. 6. Tiffany won’t tell her she has other phones – she will simply turn over one to the police and another to her dad. Like I said, she has her ducks in a row.
How can we cheer Tiffany on when we know her motive? Meanwhile I hope Ann doesn’t do anything stupid – even a threat – which would of course be recorded. For Ann at this point, the best offense may be a good defense – which Tom can pay for. Tiffany – get a life – and let your Dad have his! And Les – shut up!
I hate to say it but it looks like Anne may be right. I doubt Tiff’s dad will stop seeing Anne just because. Unless Anne commits a big crime and so far the bootleg lingerie isn’t it. I hope we get to see Tom Farrell. Tiff is Shannon and he is a rich version of Jonah.
Pay attention to the earlier strips. It was Al Gray who financed Ann’s business. He said something to this effect: It’s my business if it is my money. SO, anyone who says Tom Farrell bankrolled Ann’s business and will side with her and pay for her defense…you don’t know who Tom Farrell is. None of us have yet.
Soooo glad Ann didn’t respond that she and “Tom” are already married, or something equally far-fetched. Her response here provides all the tension needed, and is far more believable.
I usually just read comments and don’t respond, but why does everyone think Tiff’s father would side with a bimbo over his daughter. He may have been distant as a father, but I’ll bet he does love his daughter. And I think that anyone that harmed her would not fare well. He spoiled her with money and trips to Europe while being emotionally vacant. Not the best dad perhaps, but she is still daddy’s little girl. No way he would stand up for a cheap petty criminal over his only daughter.
Again the deadpan expression on Tiff’s face. Praise-worthy, given the number of emotions that would be swirling in her thoughts. And also a great tactic to prevent Ann from guessing at her next move! Bravo!
I still say Mr. Gray and Ann are both cut from the same cloth and he is a shady character in his own right. Really don’t want Mrs. B to marry him. He seems to be in a big hurry to move into her house and move Gunther out.
I still say Mr. Gray and Ann are both cut from the same cloth and he is a shady character in his own right. Really don’t want Mrs. B to marry him. He seems to be in a big hurry to move into her house and move Gunther out.
First of all, Les, chill with the comments! You don’t want to antagonize your mom any more than she is, now… Well, maybe you do, but that’s not the swift move, here. TIff is on a roll. Let her finish this off. Help her get the phone back, if needed. But, as others have said, it may not be.
Tiff, finish Ann off. And reconcile with your dad. There’s all sorts of Deus ex Machina magic waiting to assist you. Cops sneaking into the Fuse to surveil the incident (or Simone calling them to the scene)? Either Tom or Al Gray doing the same (less likely, I think as I’d gather they’d have appeared by now to bust Ann, but ya never know)… perhaps even TJ or Ox standing by to help… All of these possibilities are there.
You’ve planned well, Tiff. Stick to the plan and bring it home!
QUick scroll seems to reveal that people don’t see, or are skeptical as to how Tiffany has her final knockout blow. That is comic writer’s privilege; I bet GE has something up his sleeve that Tiffany will do, or has done, which chases Ann away again, if not worse, and affirms the issue with both parents, Les’s desire to avenge how his mother has treated him over his life, and Tiffany’s desire to detach her father from Ann. Whether Mr. Ferrell will get closer to his daughter though remains to be seen. Anyway this arc will be over Saturday, at least this phase, is my prediction.
Random vision while reading today’s strip- we finally meet Mr. Farrell and he looks like the weird guy from the firehouse, the one with his mouth always open! Although I highly doubt he would, I’m sure he’d be shown as more suave. It just gave me a chuckle.
Oh look, Les is an official scorekeeper. Also what happened with the phone call to Simone? I think she’s listening. At any rate it doesn’t look like Ann is giving up without a fight.
“Lock her up” is russian troll stuff. I wish people would resist that. Tiff has too much faith in the Law. With all the work cops do these days, do they really have time for this? It’s Buyer Beware friends!
What’s missing in all this is that Tiffany needs to actually talk with her dad about her disappointment in his behavior towards her and his relationship with a bad woman. If we commentators spend all our time on the legal or revenge end, then we miss the underlying problem for Tiffany.
Ann is making a classic mistake that overconfident people make when ambushed, she is trying to win the encounter. When you are being ambushed, you have to assume your opponent prepared beforehand and may have an overwhelming force (or multiple strategies) prepared to defeat you. You need to recognize that you are not prepared to defend yourself well when ambushed. Ann keeps trying to go on the offensive, but so far Tiffany has swatted Ann’s attempts easily because she thought the whole ambush out beforehand. The best strategy for Ann is to withdraw and get better positioned to defend herself or even go on the offensive. But this is why ambushes work so well. Many people never consider retreat as an option.
Tiffany was very unhappy with her dad’s new relationship even before she knew of Ann’s fraud. It is not healthy to be so wrapped up with her dad’s romantic interests because she hasn’t gotten basic love and support from him. If he won’t sit down and chat, Tiff, keep seeing a counselor, take your medication and work on your weight issue.
This reminds me of my wife’s knitting. Just when I think she’s done with something, she pulls out another one of those yarn things and keeps adding to the project.
I’m beginning to really like the thought that SAURABH_INDIA suggested on Feb. 26, that Simone could be Tom Farrell’s ex and Tiffany’s mother. That could result from an amicable divorse because of competing careers. And Tiff would have kept contact with Mom. Anybody have a backstory on Tiffany’s mother?
Not too much added here except we now know FOR SURE (it was probable already) that Ann is only dating Mr. Farrell and we know his first name is Tom. Other thoughts I have, though:
1) I still think it is unlikely that much if any “jail” time is in Ann’s future. I suspect Greg has some route out of this. It seems Ann is too vital and volatile an antagonist for Greg to “volcanoize” her character. And, I think it is doubtful that Greg would have in mind any “jailhouse” panels or arcs.
2) I have no real idea how Greg may resolve this while keeping Ann available in the future. So, I will look forward to what I feel is going to be a big surprise.
3) I am still wondering if we will actually meet Tom as a character or if he will remain only alluded to? With him never really being a drawn character (ignoring the back of his head image at graduation) kind of keeps up the feelings of the distance aspect of his and Tiffany’s relationship. If he does become a drawn, actively seen character, might that then indicate a shift is afoot in how Tom and Tiffany’s relationship proceeds?
4) While I agree that Les has grown as a character…. I have to say that during this Ann/Tiffany interlude this week, I have been feeling somewhat aggravated by Les and his comments. For the most part I see Les viewing this whole interaction as merely a game. And, admittedly it is to a degree, but it is also very serious on both sides… and yet [to me] Les is not acknowledging the seriousness.
‘Point’ (as Les just said) to consider: IF this is recorded, Ann Eiffel just made a confession! So it’s “BOYS! Move in, NOW!” time! Afterward, both Les and Tiffany can chine in unison with, "BOYS! Take her away!!
Plus, I wonder if Les did the quick finger lick before doing the classic air-finger-point-scratch in Panel 3!?
Unless the photos were taken when she was younger than 15, Tiff looks almost exactly the same as she did in high school. The face is the same, just a few pounds added.
Perhaps Tiffany arranged to have her dad, the DeGroot’s, Mr. Gray, and a police officer waiting in an alcove nearby overhearing the entire conversation.
I do have to commend Ann for being honest enough to address what is actually the issue between her and Tiff. And yeah, I still think Tiff needs to talk to her father. I’m not impressed with girl fighting like this – if Tiff has a problem with who her father is dating talk to him, don’t take it out on the girlfriend.
People complain on OK cupid about how hard it is to date with kids. And this is why. I couldn’t blame Ann for dumping Tiff’s father and the baggage that comes with him at this point. I also couldn’t blame Tiff’s dad for being less then thrilled his daughter is medelling in his girlfriends business. You got your $400 Tiff, go home.

How many people think that the person/people Ann has to answer to will be happy that she was out maneuvered by Tiffany. This won’t end well for Ann if she tells the truth to who ever she has to answer to. She will have some ’splaining to do.
