They “goofed” the backpack next to the floral one: it’s supposed to be spelled “b-e-E-t-l-e-s.”

A nice backpack with Tiffany’s picture on it (Eyes of Zye, much better than Wonder Woman) would thrill her, I’m sure. Shannon already likes Tiffany for helping her and doing her makeup that night at The Fuse. Tiffany Rocks!

Even if she doesn’t grasp the significance of it now, Shannon is the kind of kid that would eventually gravitate to the likes of AC/DC, given that she shakes up everyone in her world all night (and all day) long.

Who would license AC DC for a kids backpack. And, why is Brad taking Shannon school supply shopping? Can’t the person who is supposed to be responsible for her, do even that? I know, I know he’s off on another gig, leaving her with Toni and Brad, as usual. (Also, as usual, Luann will be involved somehow.) Did Shannon’s father at least leave money for Brad and Toni to take Shannon school supply shopping?

You know all us old farts know AC DC and I confess I listen to classic rock all the time in my car, and working out, or grading papers for example. It helps me think, and I have quite a history with all the music of the Baby Boomer era. In this panel though Brad, being a Millennial probably looks at AC DC as ancient history, and Shannon as a Post-Millennial totally would not know what that is, so her amusement is totally understandable and funny. Hey I might be a septuagenarian but the fact that old Mick is approaching 80 and still saying “I can’t get no satisfaction” is reassuring weirdly.

Other than Beyonce I don’t see any musicians that a child in 2018 would be at all familiar with. I wonder whether Brad went to the Classic Rock/Classic Cartoon Character backpack store…

Do kids of that age even KNOW who the Beatles are? And if they do, why would they pick that? It would be like me, back in 1964, picking a Frank Sinatra backpack. Or Mitch Miller. LOL
