There are bad, corny lines. And then there is this.

From the way he has been drawn Les has a serious problem communicating with women, perhaps because his mom is such a manipulative monster. I don’t think he means to be rude, this just him being the way his background has made him. One thing I do like as that the hotness that Luann is is acknowledged even if in a kind of crude way. Actually I have known guys who talk like this.

Whoever said that “Les is more” was right. More annoying, more lecherous, more…

Well now. Take a GOOD look at this: Les Knox, who after virtually IGNORING Luann since his unwelcome return to the Strip a few years ago, is now giving Lu his undivided attention. And No, Les NEVER made a pass at Luann before. EVER.

A couple of observations/Predictions here:

1) Already “folks” are making excuses for Les’ behavior today, and completely overlooking the fact that We now have proof that Les HASN’T “changed.” Didn’t see THAT coming, No Sir! (Rolls Eyes)

2) As I once predicted, it ain’t gonna matter what girl shows up at the Gulag to see Gunther, Les is always gonna make a pass at her. Today We have proof.

3) Yesterday across various forums, when Gunther and Luann were mentioned in the same breath, the first thing many “folks” said was “What about Jack? I want Luann with Jack!” It’s early yet, but now that Les is coming on to Luann, nobody has uttered, “What about Jack?” Yet. Curious, and a tad “Telling.”

4) I’ll wager that tomorrow Everybody will focus on Gunther trying to “bum rush” Les out the door, and say how “whiny, and petty, and moody” he is for doing so. But today he’s going to take heat once again, for trying to warn a young woman about Les. And you can take THAT to the Bank.

Now would be a real good time for Tiffany to come over to the Gulag, and to see the thug she’s got the “Hots” for, making a play for her mortal enemy, Luann. I really hope that happens. No I really do. “Les and Luann.” Has a nice ring to it, don’t it? And I really wanna see if Les STUPID enough to try to play “patty cake” with his boss’s daughter.

Gunther? THIS is why a single guy should NEVER have a male “roommate.” MOVE! Not back to Peru but out of the Gulag and across town. You’re never gonna get catch a break as long as Les is around and breathing……,

Les shows up for work walking funny and speaking a couple of octaves higher…

Yesterday, Gunther demonstrated his slickness. Today, Les, uh,demonstrates… his own slickness. Though it’s more so the Crisco kind. Or the LucasOil on the driveway kind. Or the ‘wet floor sign that’s there, but half-heartedly placed, and looks like it’s not there to warn anybody, but there’s actually some mysterious substance that was just “cleaned up” 5 minutes ago’ kind. Or the Vitalis kind.

Maybe that kind of pick up line is best not used on your employer’s daughter,Les?

Evidently Luann took Pru seriously. Sorry to jump from Pru so quickly – we still don’t know much about her.

He’s just doing this to annoy Gunther and because he assumes it’s a date. He figures if Gunther is interested she might be worth making a play for. He’s being awkward and nasty but nothing Luann can’t handle with a few choice words. And unless he puts his hands on her no need to throw a knee or a purse. And, hey, Luann looks like she’s dressed for a date to me. She does look nice. Hope Gunther notices her efforts.

Hope Luann doesn’t fall into the attracted to the bad boy syndrome (e.g. like Zelda [the Great] in Dick Tracy…

Les is getting a bit tedious.

Les, having you been working the diary bar at the Fuse? "cause that line was so cheesey…

Les must’ve had a bunch of gems to choose from, instead, like:

1) “You must’ve just paid your light bill…‘cos I’m definitely feeling the electricity, right now!”

2) “You’ve been running through my mind, since I last saw you! Hopefully you didn’t get too many callouses and corns…”

Then, again, he could leave himself open for rejection:

3) “Luann, you take my breath away!” (Luann:) “No, you can definitely have it back!…In fact, take it waaaay over there, please!”

Are we om for another “Luann teases Gunther” arc? I thought those ended in HS. I would like it if Tiff got jealous of Luann’s presence but I think it will be awhile before she (Tiff) and Gunther are friendly again.

I thought that this was mostly set up to make us ask the obvious question – why is LuAnn dressed so nice for Gunther? And how did this come straight outta the blue? Just because he shaved?

I make a motion we petition Sheriff to remove all versions of lavender, mauve, plum, violet, and any other shade of purple from his palette for at least a year.

It kind of bothers me that Pru popped up just long enough to push Luann in a different direction. Anyone could have done that—Jack, Mom, even Shannon. It’s poor storytelling to use a character like that. New threads should always be, or at least appear to be, organic. Critique over.

I see this differently: Les knows that Lu is there to see Gunth, and her words imply that there was a secret rendezvous intended. Les is about to start a big rumor, but then again, it’s yet another step towards the strip finale I’ve predicted.

Where did Luann get her jacket? At the thrift store?

You know what? It’s just dawned on Me. What Greg and Karen are doing with Les here. In Les, they have created a “male” version of Tiffany to torment Gunther. No WAIT, hear Me out!

Since his dreaded and unfortunate introduction many years ago, Les Knox has single handedly gotten between EVERY single Young Woman that has wandered into Gunther’s life. First Rosa, then Tiffany and now it appears, Luann. Sound familiar? Tiffany has made a play for just about EVERY guy that Luann was ever interested in. Aaron Hill, Miguel, Quill, and now Jack. If Luann liked them, Tiffany got in the way.

Now it appears the same thing is about happen between Les and Gunther. I said over a year ago when this Hellish “living a arrangement” was first formulated that Les would pounce every single skirt that crossed the Gulag’s door sill. And Voila, here We are! Remember when the “Coupon Lady” showed up last year at the Gulag Yard sale? What “Guy” got to her first? Here’s a hint: It WASN’T Gunther.

Les Knox: “The New Tiffany.” And with NONE of Tiffany’s more “pleasant attributes”……, :(

Amazing that Gunther and Les are still under the same roof. That’s an accident waiting to happen.

Luann…think of your gene pool. Don’t let any sharks near it.

Weellll… Isn’t this a pretty scene? Luann is all dressed up. Just like a real date. Nicely understated. Standing very demurely. Expecting to see her old semi-heartthrob Gunther appear at the door. Looks like Little (Purple) Riding Hood meets the Big Bad Wolf. Owwwwooooo!

Well, what I would do here, if I were Gunther…. take 10 minutes to show Luann the Gulag, and then suggest that the TWO of them go somewhere else….. it doesn’t matter where…. somewhere at Moony, somewhere at Pitt CC, the library, the mall, Taco Bell…. hell, anywhere except staying in the Gulag or going to The Fuse.

That is what Gunther should do. Then, the potential problems of Les are solved. But, I suspect this WILL NOT be what transpires.

This could go a couple of ways. I wonder what Greg has in mind???

Is Luann testing the Gunther waters again? Maybe she digs the old clean cut look (see yesterday); thereby causing a Gunther/Jack Nice Guy conflict within Luann. Big and rough vs. imaginative and sensitive. Maybe she’ll turn semi-Tiff and play them both! :o)

OR

Has Greg set up a Bad-Boy/Nice-Guy Dynamic Duo Gulag here? Again setting up a classic conflict within Luann. The Dynamic Duo is already into it over Tiff.

Les purposely waited until Luann showed up. He’s making the moves on her because both Pru and Tiffany rejected him. Now (Shudder) he’s going after Luann. For once, Gunther was right. Does anyone see a future with Luann and Gunther???

Les must want to be unemployed. He just hit on the boss’s daughter.

Yup, G was spot on.

I think Luann should introduce Les to Jack. So far Jack has been a gentleman and shown signs of being protective to Luann. I think Luann is holding back either because she thinks he’s the big dumb type or she’s afraid she found Mr. Right and he’s not the pretty boy she’s dreamed of all her life.

I think that Gunther was just trying to avoid another “Tiffany Evening” type thing.

When Luann & Tara went to the lingerie party – Les ignored Luann and hit on Tara.

Ugh! You can’t even call Gunther paranoid because Les is really a problem! So, about what could Gunther and Luann talk about after a long time? I hope about Tiffany and what she’s going through. They may decide to help her together.

Now we know why Les has no girlfriend. :-)

Where is Jack?

@Aladar: It’s not likely that Tiffany would want any help of any kind from Luann. Tiffany hates Luann. And why would Luann and Gunther get together after all this time just to talk about someone else? Some posters here have been screaming for Luann and Gunther to end up together (not me), but this would sure be a weird way of achieving that, by having them talk about Tiffany…

At least Gunther has smartened up to the point that he’ll invite dates over when “Les the Mess” is at work.

Well, at least he’s Consistent in his dipwadery.

I’m predicting that Luann (at least) enjoys Les’s abrupt comments on her physical desirability, something Jack doesn’t do and nor would Gunther. She may not be interested in Les but all women like to know that they are hot regardless of who it is coming from. Gunther will be annoyed and the evening may be ruined as it was when Tiffany visited. I can see Luann wanting to talk to Gunther about his interests while Gunther will spend the whole evening dumping on Les until Luann gets tired of it just like Tiffany got tired of it.

Oh, great. Leslie the Neanderthaler re-emerges from the mists of history to harass Luann and further frustrate Gunther….

Les is just creepy.
