Leave it to Sophie to appreciate the raccoon’s creative use of found objects colanders and silverware and tin foil. Yes, I know it’s not made of tin, but that’s how I learned it.
Whoo! Sophie on the mic! I love how her whiskers have gone up, boing! in the third panel. It makes her look…younger, almost? Very focused and engaged. As a rather reserved introvert – who occasionally never shuts up once you get me talking about something I’m passionate about – I feel for her!
It’s my birthday. Spent last weekend with the daughter and son-in-law to celebrate. I had such a taste for pork roast, so tonight I’m making pork roast, smashed taters, asparagus and lashings of gravy. And I’m getting myself a BD cake and ice cream. So, the hubs and I will have a totally off the recommended foods list meal. It’s my birthday and I’ll eat what I want to, to paraphrase a song…
:D I love Sophie’s mike S W I P E in the third panel! [Much laughing.] Tommy’s look of surprise is perfect. And nobody “swipes” something with a lightning-quick paw strike like a focused feline!
Why did Tommy say “raccoons” in quotation marks? As the news-cat about town, I would think he’d recognize a raccoon even if it’s wearing retro trash couture armor.
OT: I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about wearing the t-shirt from this race tomorrow. The logo is supposed to be a cupcake. It looks like the “I’m in severe gastrointestinal distress” version of the poop emoji.
With reference to @ladypeterw, I am currently baking cake. My stepson and fellow cat man just started working for a very upscale bakery. He came home yesterday asking if I can make “rainbow cake.”. Yes I can. 6 layers of colors plus lemon butterflies frosting and a cascade of m& m s when cut. Yes I watch food network.

If anyone knows “trash couture”, it’s Sohpie. She’s like the Queen of repurposed things.

Out of the goodness of my heart, I’m not going to link to “Everything is Awesome!!!” here.
But it’s already stuck in your head. >:D
Did you know that thing actually has verses, with lyrics, that didn’t make it into the movie?

From the Moody Blues: Nights in White Satin
Knights in tin foil
Searching in the trash cans,
Are they preparing
Some nefarious plan?
Or just making a fashion statement,
Of haute couture?
Just what their plans are
We cannot be sure.
But we love their sense
Of high fashion!
Ooh of high fashion!

Are these raccoons going to be recurring characters now? I like them.

I can see raccoons doing excellent couture work, what with their dexterous little hands.♥

What are they actually inspecting? The foil or whatever is still attached to it? “This grease is authentic!”

But while Sophie is rhapsodising over the raccoons’ armour, poor Goldie is succumbing to a miserable turn of fortune.

It didn’t occur to me that Sophie would approve of their wardrobe. It should have, but didn’t.
