“Chitter and Chatter, wa’sah matter?” Such beautiful artwork today! And the moon is close to full as in real time now. (Can’t see it because of fog and smoke.)
It looks as though none of the boys will have to boldly go into tweetspace (the final frontier), but they will have to find a way to rescue Beatrix before those blabbering birds send the Evil Queen after her.
Puckmosis: Thanks for coming with me, Thomios. And Maat-Tilda.
Thomios: No problem. I’ve always wanted to see the Great Pyramid.
Puckmosis: Yeah. It was just standing there for ages when Bea got the idea to explore it. We found many archives, including some recipes you may want to try.
Maat-Tilda: There were a lot of patterns for clothing as well. I’ll have to ask Arachna to help me spin some fabric.
Puckmosis: Yeah, I saw her latest web artwork. Weaving names into her webs.
Some time later
Thomios: Well, here we are. What does the carving over the entrance say?
Puckmosis: “I built this. You figure out how to use it. Signed, Pharaoh Catfu.”
Come on, Bea, you can get down. Just take it one step at a time.
Waiting to leave for the cabin. I’m not sure if I am really looking forward to it. I know I’ll see Paul in every nook and cranny. I’m afraid it will rip my heart wide open again.
This reminds me of a time about half a year ago. One day my cat went missing for a couple of hours, so I went behind our house, and looked up into the trees. My Casper what’s all the way at the top! It was like 4-5 meters up. So we called the maintenance guys who fix our homes and they got a ladder, and tried to trap Casper, but he flew off and ran under the bed. I’m so thankful that he wasn’t hurt, since he was only a kitten at the time. That’s what happens when cats climb up trees, I guess!
OT: a deer (my family calls her Mama Deer) keeps getting into our backyard garden, even though there’s a hecking fence around it. Any suggestions on how to keep the deer out? It keeps eating our tomatoes.
Just as a word of advice, cats always get down out of trees. There is no recorded case of a cat starving in a tree. There is video on the Internet of a cat jumping off the top of a telephone pole and then running away.
The artwork today is especially vibrant! I love the perspectives and the colors! Of course the artwork is always beautiful! Maybe the chickadees will tattle to some cats as well?
My Lucylu climbed a neighbors tree she was maybe 10 feet off the ground. My Granddaughter was quite upset by this, so what do I do and 50something years old…I climb a tree and bring her down. My granddaughter still talks about the time I climbed the tree. I was just amazed I could still climb a tree, somethings you don’t forget from childhood.
The day the Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the American Revolutionary War—to the great relief of Great Britain and John Adams …
National Welsh Rarebit (or Rabbit) Day —Welsh rarebit (Which began as “Welsh Rabbit.”) consists of toasted bread covered in a mixture of hot cheddar cheese, beer (or ale or milk), and other ingredients for seasoning, such as mustard, cayenne pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Essentially an open-faced toasted cheese, with seasonings. The beer or other liquid is used to dissolve the cheese. Apparently there are no rabbits in Wales, so this will have to do.
US Bowling League Day —FORE! … Oh wait, that’s golf … Though with some of the bowlers I’ve seen, it might be appropriate … Bowling is a wonderful way to waste an afternoon and lose—or increase—your frustration. I’ve always found my accuracy and control were improved if I visualized the pins as a clump of politicians …
National Skyscraper Day —I once worked as a material scientist for a consultant firm. One of the “perks” of the job was the occasional visit to a new skyscraper with a stone veneer. I’ve noticed that many architectural firms call in the materials consultant after the structure is built. Standing there, next to the architect swelling with pride as we gazed upward at his marvelous edifice, I would say, “Yeah, nice beach!” It often took over a minute for this to penetrate. You see, a skyscraper with a stone cladding is essentially an artificial cliff. We all know what cliffs become, don’t we? (Hint, the pile of regolith you find below them.)
Regolith, n. geol. Naturally broken, fragmented, and comminuted stone.
The chickadees are either smart, or brave or both. The sit and talk to me as I fill the feeder and change the water, like I’m their best buddy. The Gold Finches take off like they are P-51 Mustangs on a mission and I’m the German artillery.
You may be surprised how welcoming it feels! When my husband died my friend and doctor told me not to be surprised if I saw him in familiar places. I looked for months and never saw him. Then after walking down to what had been our favorite spot in the yard where there was a little creek I went to sleep and was awakened by Terry’s voice. He was laughing and said “I just wanted you to know – I passed my test!” That was all. I was delighted for a moment and then sat there in bed thinking “Wait – There’s a test?” He was so sick for so long and every time I’ve dreamed about him or thought I’ve seen him he’s been laughing. I’m sure your cabin is full of love, let it give some back to you now!

Oh, Beatrix. The trick to getting down from a tree is to go down the same way you went up—with your butt pointed down and your head pointed up.

hmmmm. even with no phone, baby Bea is in a tweet space with all the lovely chickadees.
Tweet-ily deedly dee (6x)
Tweet tweet
Tweet tweet
They rock in the tree tops all night long
Hoppin’ and a-boppin’ and singing their song
All the little birdies on pink house street
Love to hear Chit/Chat go tweet tweet tweet
Rockin’ Chit/Chat, rock rock
Rockin’ Chit/Chat
Blow rockin’ Chit/Chat
’Cause we really hope they help Bea tonight
Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow
Flappin’ their wings singing go birds go
Rockin’ Chit/Chat, rock rock
Rockin’ Chit/Chat
Go rockin’ Chit/Chat
Please save our little Bea tonight
