It’s Steinbeck you want, or possibly Bob Service.
I think of scratching as reducing pain as opposed to causing pleasure.
I just want to hear someone say “a happy little tree” every once in a while.
Lo and behold, I got a few itches to scratch as I read this.
I’m with Earl on that.
Good scratch.. right up there with a good rub.
neither of which is received around MY house, anymore…:(
I’m more in the line of “If it’s worth doing at all, it’s worth doing well” (and so we should prioritize things that are worth doing well !)
I am with you on the itching, it’s that time of year.
Earl, the cultural philistine !
All of sudden, I have an itch!
A scratch, burp and a fart, is the happy trifecta that makes me smile!
Opal would you say that again only slower … give Earl time to scratch ;-)
One thing’s the same for the poor and the rich. They both feel good when they scratch where it itch.
You just can’t take the classless out of his element…
Earl, I’m sure Goethe had that “I’m forgetting something feeling” as he was writing that.
Go Comics are to me fine pictures, good poetry and the commentary, mostly, reasonable words. How do we find a song in all this?
When you’re in public, don’t be afraid of scratching where it itches.
Could I add a few? A hot cuppa, first thing in the Morning. Hear a great old song on the radio. Sit in the sun, for a bit.
Anyone else?
A lot of it depends on where the scratch is.
Personally, I’ll settle for a productive visit to the bathroom.
To quote Ogden Nash, the Baltimore Bard:
A joy for which there is no match\ Is when you itch, to up and scratch.
To which I say, Amen.
Roscoe agrees with Earl…
A touch of kindness, really, in whatever form.
I love that quote.
I one did a calligraphy wallhanging with that quote.
Earl’s a Back To Basics kind of guy.
That’s Earl… always taking the high cultural road. %
You had me up until you got to the “reasonable words” portion.
Have we seen Opal with jeans on before? Or any type of pants?
Well, this Senior Senior prefers porn, thank you very much.
“Home is where you can scratch where it itches.” ~Anon.
…or comic strip.
It’s implied.
That can be nice too when needed as long as not overdone.
Another hilarious expression by Roscoe. Thx Brian Crane.
You should start every day with a good scratch.
I have a problem believing there are over 22,000 good poems.
Little song from Tom Chapin in the morning, little poem from Billy Collins in the evening, pretty pictures in my books or at the park, call a friend.
