Can we leave this arc now please. Most students Luann’s age know better than to embarrass a parent by making a snore tape and sharing it. Luann is a twit. Hope Nancy teaches her a good lesson after this.

Oh HELL NO!!! She didn’t even have the “real” essay (about how awesome her Mom is) in the “drafts” folder! The crapola one about “My Mom snores” is the one she sent! (headdesk)

I am starting to think LUANN (and Greg) are messing with Nancy and US. Especially in the last panel.

Thinking of Luann: It’s Thursday and the only development is that Luann is now dissing Nancy on how she raised her daughter.

Yeah, mom – it’s all your fault. But, one day, the younger ones will have to reach the point where they realize that it’s all on them.

Luann? Anyone will snore if in an unusual position. Your mom was sitting up with you, after a hard day at work, to give you moral support as you realized you had wasted your day and learned nothing. You repay her love for you by embarrassing her. Greg has turned from comedy to tragedy.

Not quite sure how to interpret Luann’s 3rd-panel line. Is Luann insinuating, jokingly, Nancy DID a lousy job, or HAD a lousy job?

My pop sounds like a foghorn when he snores.

I owned a bar at one time & a drunk customer was sleeping it off in his car in the parking lot by my house, when I went in the house later my cat was freaking out [it was summer so windows were all open ] finally found out what was freaking him out, the guy was snoring & my cat was terrified. He was that loud.

Nancy’s social life is about to have a huge update. I don’t know the others. But I have always found walruses to be beautiful animals♡ Now I wonder what the consequences will be for Luann.

Okay, I took Psych, and a bigger self indulgent waste of time there never was, but what assignment could be satisfied with a video of your mother sleeping, loudly or not?

Well, there’s that. She IS honest! She is also, however, in this case, somewhat cruel and lacking in empathy toward her mom. I wonder what her psychiatry professor will make of that? Once again, I don’t hate Luann! I just think she continues to have a young and emotionally underdeveloped mind and heart for her age. I know most “children” take their parents for granted but by the time they are in high school they are more mature. She is in college and STILL thinks embarrassing her mom like this is hilarious. It’s disappointing to me. But that’s just my opinion. So, don’t pile onto me for expressing it.

So now we pause in this low key, G-rated little domestic scene. Nancy is tired and her feet hurt, and Luann is working on one of her over priced, useless college courses. Meanwhile, Tiffany is restocking her closet with outrageously sexy, new clothes to replace the ones that Bets sold for her on line. Soon, she will be back strutting her stuff and perking up the male hormones in their quiet, up ’till now, peaceful town.

Unfortunately, Luann’s last words , though possibly meant to be ironic, are absolutely dead-on true. Luann is an ungrateful “entitled” wretch! (And I’m trying to be polite here.)

Tusk tusk, Luann.

LuAnn nailed it, Mom. Should have spent less time on the afternoon TV and raised your kids or got a job.

This comment page does not disappoint, pure unbridled hatred toward the named character. Of course it can be argued that Greg and possibly Karen are deliberately egging on the haters. Personally I think people should take a deep breath. Clearly this is done for laughs, the ironic comedy between mom and daughter, or dad and female members in the family (except toward Bernice for now who is a guest) is just that, somewhat sophomoric humor (snarkiness maybe) between family members. Luann’s “meme” essay hit social media, as so much “stuff” does, if one looks at social media, silliness is coin of the realm, no prisoners. This is 21st Century social media irony people. Perhaps that is why those of us who are 20th Century disappearing are so full of hate toward a comic character. My take.

By the way I hope Mordy is okay.

What would the regular readers think if in the 10/16/20 strip if Nancy were to ask ‘why would embarrass me by sharing this with your class’ ?

Our failures come back to haunt us, keep us up at night — which in this case would have avoided the problem altogether.

Does anyone else find it odd that Luann just learned her mom snores just yesterday? I knew my dad snored when I was 3 or 4 years old.

Some of them even make porn. Its easy.

No one mentioned that it is illegal to tape someone without their permission. Then to send it to someone else? LuAnn needs a beginning law class. She should be paying for it herself. Then ethics. Then, maybe, retry psychology, followed by abnormal psychology. She might learn some useful information since at this point, she is clearly clueless.

I continue to be dismayed and disappointed in Luann this week. Consideration? Empathy? :-/
