For the time being, I don’t see any upside, except that the toothbrushes look in better shape than the Doctor was before.

It will be hard to hold hands with those to get through a gate.

She could be kind of an ass, but in the end, I don’t think she deserved that.

Maybe they’ll attack and destroy the Reality Map on the floors/wall/ceiling in the room and Wally and the rest will have to jump through a portal before she destroys them all.

HUAK! Such an accurate sound for what’s occurring.

Okay… so whatever reality you’re in, that’s what you get transformed into. Since she hadn’t transformed before she cut her mask, is THAT what all Topsiders look like underneath their pristine white suits?

It’s goodbye for Dr. Amesworth and time for Wally & Co. to escape and hope they end up somewhere safer than their current circumstances. Hopefully not into the lab where Amesworth’s colleagues are — I’d hate to be the one to break the bad news to them.

1) So, it’s toothbrushes for Amesworth. 2) Now there’s a bunch of toothbrushes inside the ditto barrier with our group. 3) Will the toothbrushes still have Amesworth’s mind? 4) That thing we saw in the suit. Do all Topsiders look like that, or was she a product of the “combine suit with human” experiment she mentioned back on 8/3/20?

The surreal quality of this comic strip would make the late Salvador Dali smile. One does wonder how long Dr. Amesworth had endured the growing change within her before she decided to cut off the lower screen on her mask. Another question is how effective are those bio-suits in different dimensions/realities?

Come on Aaron why did you have to go and do that!?

I wonder if there’s any way she can be made to join the rest of her compatriots outside the tower?

Well… so much for the one person in the comic who gave mostly straight answers to what was going on. o7

Ditto bubble, package them up, take them with you. Maybe a solution can be found on the other side. They’re supposed to keep some semblance of their former self, right? If anyone can piece themselves together, maybe Amesworth can. She might always bee a pile of toothbrushes, but perhaps there are worse fates.

Goodbye Doctor. Like the event at Free Energy when the switch was flipped on we may be at a similar point here with all these portals gates suddenly thrown open. “I” would smile if it could.

As ends go, that one’s pretty horrible!

Too bad it was toothbrushes. Had it been floss, she’d just be strung out.

Did not see that coming…

so…did she double mutate? Or was what we saw in the last page just what you look like while transitioning into a pile of toothbrushes?

I’m wondering if Wally can “loan” some Dittos to the toothbrushes so that they can work together better to get the Doc functioning again.

…That’s probably too optimistic.

So why was Dr. Amesworth, who just now opened her suit, morphed into toothbrushes and not Wally and the gang who have been exposed all the time?

Does she have the whits to organize the random toothbrush hoard? Her intelligence and will may be what is needed at this time.

Ohh… This must be one of the most shocking Endtown scenes ever. And I’ve seen a few.

This has that ‘Creepshow’ vibe, especially the story " They’re Creeping Up On You".

Huh, strangely enough this installment seems to ease the tension from the last one for me. I expected there was gonna be some sort of horrific reveal of the rest of her face.

Alan must be like “Oh god this whole thing has just been one big disaster! D:”

Comment one: Since a comic book was the reason our „mutants“ are now cute, cuddly, talking animals, what the Sam Hill could have caused everyone in this „reality“ to change into toothbrushes?

Comment two: Does Aaron intend to give us any hope in this ongoing saga? There‘s never any light at the end of the tunnel, always an oncoming train – and, being in a tunnel, the only option is sitting through the train wreck.

And with installments coming out only two or three times a week, it‘s a train wreck in slow motion.

And we still don‘t know the fates of Kirby and family. The Marxes marching them out of their apartment looked deadly ominous; for all we know, they are as dead as the paper and ink they are made of.

Please, Aaron, give us some hope in this story!

This can’t be good for Amesworth’s diet.

“Don’t tell me not to cut open my suit, you dam’ mutant!” Amesworth bristled…

Wait, does this mean the brushes can escape this reality through the portals all over?

Public Service Announcement: When brushing always spit never swallow…

I’ve been thinking. Based on today’s strip, I agree that Amesworth didn’t go through a prior mutation. At this point, I agree that the face behind the grill she foolishly removed is likely what topsiders truly look like under the suit.

I was also thinking about the future of Dr Amesworth. Is this truly her tragic end, or will Aaron Marx and gang freeze time at some point, drop in, and gather up her present splintered mutant toothbrush existence before leaving again? I can’t imagine anyone else being in a position to help her at this point.

I was also thinking about Wally & company. What now? Hold hands and jump into a random gate? Will Wally or Duffy figure out how that tablet works and find the correct gate out to relative safety? Will they grab Amesworth’s bio-suit (gaining a second set of goggles and gloves) and cutter tool? Will they need protection from the Amesworth toothbrushes, or will the Amesworth toothbrushes help Wally & company escape while she’s still a fresh but fractured mutation? Will their next quantum leap lead to new adventures, or will it take them home? … perhaps to Endtown? … or perhaps even to the topsider lab? …

So many questions. I look forward to seeing what unfolds next.

Well, so much for it fitting inside a humanoid-shaped suit…

It’s Monday, 26-Oct-20, 12:50 MST. We were missing a Wednesday installment last week; hoping for a Monday installment pretty soon!

This cliffhanger has been going on for months now!

If her pile of toothbrushes make it into the same portal as them, I wonder if she’s still malleable enough to morph into an animal?

…this is so sad…

She was never specifically identified as Dr. Amesworth, was she? Was that just speculation, because she was out there in the multiverse and the “alternate” topsiders were talking about Dr. Amesworth being out there also. Man, this is a weird arc.
