Let’s dance for fear your grace should fall. Let’s dance for fear tonight is all. Let’s sway. You could look into my eyes. Let’s sway under the moonlight, This serious moonlight. And if you say run, I’ll run with you. And if you say hide, we’ll hide.
Tabith-Isis: This is Tabith-Isis reporting from the Royal Palace, where it appears someone has been un-criming. We’re at the kitchen with head chef Thomios. Tommy, what can you report?
Thomios: Well, I was preparing several loaves of bread for baking when I realized we were running low on butter. But when I sent one of my crew for cream, he said someone had already been churning the butter. Then the other night several wheels of cheese appeated.
Tabith-Isis: But isn’t it true whenever you need an ingredient it is always available in your pantry?
Thomios: Yes, but we also noticed an origami cat centerpiece mysteriously appeared one evening.
Tabith-Isis: And there you have it, folks. This is Tabith-Isis reporting on the un-crimes at the palace with this new bag of red dots. Wait, where did these come from?
Lupinium and the Royal Procurers: We’ll never tell!
Pintrest or as my husband calls it “crack for crafty people”. Several years ago we got a couple of Christmas cards that had so much glitter on them that they had small piles of it in the envelop and card. We had glitter on things for months. I’ve threatened to save the envelops and send it back to whoever sent it.
A few years ago, we were wrapping presents with this fancy, glitter covered paper and my friend’s cat ended up looking like a disco ball as the glitter flew whenever we moved the paper.
Elvis is right – you can vacuum until the cows come home but some glitter will always be there. Every year I make big bows using that glitter ribbon from CostCo for the cookie tins I get at CostCo to give to some of our favorite businesses around town (like our mechanic and pharmacy- There are 14 of them). I’ve always done it at the dining room table. and there was glitter everywhere, including on the cats. I just called them my sparkle boys. This year, I did it all in the garage on my husbands’ workbench. It’s pretty sparkly out there! Some of it still ended up in the house and on the cats because it came in on my clothes.
Wowsers! People love this strip this morning. It is only 6 a.m. and the list of comments is huge!
She Who Must Be Obeyed did a glitter project on the kitchen table with our 7 & 5 year old’s back in 2009. Afterword’s, you would literally find glitter on the table, counter top, your own cheek, or the cats for the next 3 months.
I can’t believe that was 11 years ago now…I miss having young children. Next Fall Marie and I will be empty nesters from September till December.
The are playing Morning by Edvard Grieg on Classic 107.3 – Radio Arts Foundation right now…Fitting, I feel like I will be Soylent Green soon. The arthritis is really stiff this morning; the weather is going to change.
My wife just made some ornaments for our son and I was on “cat” duty to keep them from “helping” BTW glitter is like pine needles it will be there as long as the house is around. I haven’t had a “real” tree for years and still manage to find needles.
As I sit here reading this, there is glitter on the kitchen table from Christmas cards that came in the mail which have not been opened yet. I’m afraid…
Emily Dickinson’s Birthday: I always liked her poetry. I’ve no idea why.
Dewey Decimal System Day: “Neat freaks” have a positive side. Melville Dewey even dropped the last two letters of his first name for the sake of efficiency, becoming “Melvil.” I still prefer his system to that of the LCC. Where do you file Congress? Right next to Transgress …
Nobel Prize Day: Having attempted to stop war by making it more deadly, Alfred Nobel decided he would at least give recognition to those with more effective methods. Now, I wonder what this call from Sweden was about? Didn’t leave a message … probably just a telemarketer …
National Lager Day: “Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy.” —Attributed to Benjamin Franklin, who undoubtedly stole it from someone who was drunk. Here’s to cold, bottom fermentation!
Happy Hanukkah: to those of that persuasion. Keep those candles away from Dr. Nobel …
I kinda agree, someone who gives unlimited amounts of glitter to children can be classified as moderately crazy. Therefore all preschool teachers are moderately crazy.
OT. I did some shopping on Zazzle late last night…that is dangerous. I’ve never bought anything from that site before. Is it normal they charge you separate shipping for each item?
I went dancing with a very young woman at a club in Texas. She had long, blond hair which she had “dosed” with glitter. Whenever there was a fast song and she stood in a spotlight, she looked like she was “beaming down”.
Oh man, the artist is going to get so tired of drawing glitter… Because I’ve got glitter still in my carpet 4 years after my neighbors grandkids came by wearing some glitter covered dingle ball things on their heads and scattering glitter everywhere.
The summary is there will be a calendar soon, it will just be using classic prints. I know I will be perfectly happy with any BCN calendar, new or old art.
When I was in high school my brother and sister were in grade school. They made Chanukah decorations in the basement using styrofoam and glitter. The glitter persisted till after I graduated.
