He thought he saw a Puddy Tat!

Our cat does the same thing. Usually there’s nothing there, but sometimes it’s a spider or {{{shudder}}} a roach.

It’s the killer dust bunny of Caerbannog!!!

Probably just a bug. My cockatiel stares at the ceiling with her head tilted and there is always a bug there.

One needs to be v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l Picking up a cat in that situation!!! They’re entirely TOO calm and close!!

I’ve had snakes in the house twice, which my cats held at bay till we dealt with them. The first time (30+ years ago), I ended up killing the full-grown krait. The second time (a month ago), I just drove the Russell’s Viper away past the fence and into the unused paddy fields. How one matures over the decades…

This just BEGS for a paper bag pop. (But I’m beyond that.)

My cat never does this. We had a mouse in the house two years ago and I think the cat held it’s hand while leading it to the pantry.

In the tropics it’s usually something.

Last panel, they are all standing on a chair. So, Luddy did see something. Big spider? Snake? Unidentified critter?

Mostly it’s a busy ball.

If it had been a mouse, my Mom would not have stopped at the chair….she would have been on the table or hanging from a chandelier.

It really IS something. They are standing on chairs, holding each other’s hands. What is it? Who knows? Odds are this is not explained tomorrow and we never find out. Our imaginations will prevent us from sleeping tonight…

This is akin to the old “stare up into the sky until everybody else follows suit then walk away” trick! ;o]

My youngest kitty knocks one of his mousies under a cabinet or such and I have to fish it out. He stares until I get the idea.

From the look on their faces (all three in frame four) there must have been something, something rather shocking.

For us it’s a rubber ball … always … so far … okay, I’m not putting my hand under there again without looking with a flashlight first!

Once, in the last century, I was home from college and sound asleep in bed when I was awakened by a shriek from the kitchen. I ran into the kitchen to see my two sisters and our brave german shepherd standing on chairs. Because one sister had seen the mouse. I have no idea why the dog was on a chair. I caught the mouse the next day and released it into nearby woods. I advised the mouse, that if he came back, do so when the lights are out.

C’mon Luddie time to earn your keep…

Snake or rodent and I wouldn’t be on the chair I would be out of the house. I can’t stand either. But if it’s a spider I have no problem.

If it’s a mouse, it’s could go to “Overboard” and live happily ever after.

How did Sully get under the dresser?

If it’s that icky a something, then perhaps they should let Luddy get it.

I can’t remember the last time I saw the ‘housewife standing on chair for fear of mouse’ trope. …and never for a guy.

I am a cat lover so this strip is especially cute.

One Thursday morning our cat peed at the foot of the bed on my feet. The next day she peed on the coffee table in the family room where we often ate. Saturday I was prepared to take her to the vet but could not find her. I went downstairs and looked under the guest bed and a set of eyes were looking at me. I said “Come on Vee, lets go see what is wrong with you”. It hissed at me. It was a stray cat that had come thru the garage then the pet door into the house. She wasn’t sick, she was telling me there was a stray cat in the house!!

A mouse. My cat used to stare between the stove and the cabinets. We always knew to put out the mousetraps because he couldn’t catch them under the stove.

Luddy, you had one job.

Maybe an Old One entity intruding, they always are, to sow madness and violence which they feed on from us. Cats are good at keeping them away.

What could it possibly be? A dust bunny wouldn’t scare people that much…Must be one really big one.

Love how Arlo is protecting Luddy almost more than he’s protecting Janis – she is standing closest to whatever it is after all.

So what was it? The fact that Arlo is also on a chair and, more to the point, holding Ludwig implies it’s something unpleasant and not something they can let the cat deal with. Actually Ludy’s expression seems to indicate he doesn’t want to either.

So I scrolled all the way to the bottom of the list (at this point) of comments to ask…..what is will all the repeats on MY COMICS???? Not just this one but almost 1/2 of the ones I read recently and that’s a lot BTW. Does anyone know the answer or how to actually contact someone at GC to ask? If so, than PLEASE let me know.
