There’s pretty clear from several studies that spending time consuming social media generally makes you less happy. No matter which medium.

Sad but true that much of our satisfaction Is based on what others think of what we do

There should be a law that if someone posts a picture of their meal, they have to share.

On IG yesterday I learned I have a trophy wife. It turns out she’s a participation trophy but we’re happy so there’s that. Oh, and I saw some kittens falling over. Good day.

He must’ve seen someone share their dinner of roast pig with an apple in mouth.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

If pig believes that some of what he reads on any social media site is true I have a bridge he might want to buy.

Our brains cant deal with all this extra stimulation of information we flood them with. Addiction like Pavlov’s dog.

PIG is easily influenced by others….to each his own life style!

He should put on the Happy Happy Joy Joy helmet instead.

I have always called that “Waltonizing”. The old tv shows, especially the Waltons, always showed the ideal perfect families, who lived in wonderful towns and beautiful houses and were full of love and laughter. I know someone who always thinks everyone has it better than her, so I tell her she is “Waltonizing” again and she has no idea what fears, miseries or struggles go on behind closed doors.

Go deeper one more layer in your sensibilities and you’ll find the “Who Gives a Freak Flamin’ Phuck?” Stay there.

Pig is an amateur. I feel the same even without istagram.

My mom used to say, “We grew up poor, but we didn’t know it because no one ever told us we were.”

And by the time I know as much as they do, they will have forgotten that I knew it years before they did.

Social media in a nutshell. They sell our information to corporations while making us feel bad in order to get us to double down on spending in order to ‘feel better’.

Of course Pig is unattractive — he’s a pig. :-D

(Before I catch any hate, I actually find piglets very cute and I collect pig items. Every year, my wife gets me a pig calendar or two.)

Stop trying to hog all the attention.

Aside from my comic content, I avoid any and all social media. You can’t miss what you never had. From what I hear, I’m not missing much anyway. Simple solution for a better life, it seems is to avoid all the social (seems really anti-social) media sites…..

From what I’ve heard, at least half the stuff on Instagram is faked.

Apropos of nothing, I have the Police Song Roxanne stuck in my head.

I don’t need Instagram for that. My friend and her husband retired early, have the perfect marriage (trust me), travel all over the world, and buy whatever they want. They are always texting and emailing about their fabulous lives, even if they’re just having cocktails on their back deck. I’m not jealous, because they earned it, but all of the boasting gets a little old.

What IS it about people who broadcast everything they do?

Well, everyone lies! In fact I think Pastis even already did a strip that suggests as much.

just stop doing social media and watching the news and youll be fine. read more comics, and avoid the political ones.
