Baba switched channels on Bird TV before Puck’s program had finished. The picture of her contentedly holding guard over the birdbath and feeder makes a lovely “test pattern” until the next Breaking Bird Newscast begins.
Lupin and Goldie are so willing to get into a fight. They’re wanting to get into a fight. They’re WAITING to get into a fight! It’s no fluff off their fur. ;p
Lupin and Goldie are like competing siblings. It all goes back to the tape recorder back when Goldie was investigating her owner’s disappearance. Anyhow I love how they playfully volunteer to start a full drag out brawl! Goldie should call Lupin her “brother from another mother”…… If they do commence I wonder if Baba Mouse gets involved or rolls her eyes and says “Kids, these days…” and heads back to the farm.
I know this has happened to others here, but it’s never happened to me before and I am heartsick. My perfect cat Nikki (named NightFury and occasionally called Toothless) has disappeared. We haven’t seen her since middle of yesterday, but we didn’t notice till she failed to show up for the six o’clock feeding. She’s never missed a feeding. She was certainly there for the six am feeding. And she met the dog at the door once during the day, but I can’t remember if that was before or after Ferrets On The Loose. I don’t remember seeing her during Ferrets On The Loose, but I don’t remember not seeing. And in retrospect I should have noticed that she didn’t come sit in my lap at any point in the afternoon. I have searched the whole house. I searched all the possible places and I searched all the impossible places and I got up several times in the night and searched some more places. There were three possible times she might have slipped outside with nobody seeing (once after she met the dog, and twice when my partner was getting up and down the doorstep with his cane to get to the car) though it seems unlikely—she’s never tried to get outside. I have shaken her treat container all around the yard. And this morning I put her gooshy food in the carrier she always eats in (to keep Blade from taking all her food) and put that outside. If she’s inside she must be trapped, or she would have come for last night and this morning’s six o’clocks. And if she’s trapped, why hasn’t she cried, so she must be dead. If she’s outside, she has no idea what the outside looks like, and she must be beyond earshot, and totally lost or dead. There are no near neighbors to talk to. And plenty of bears, coyotes, hawks and owls. Don’t try to be nice to me about it; I couldn’t stand that. But if you want to LIKE I will take it as sympathy, not as actual LIKE.
Had to bug bomb my apartment today because I just could not get rid of a mosquito problem any other way. The cats and I are camping out at my mom’s house for the morning and I feel like a monster. They’re so unhappy. So much crying. We’ll be home soon, but it can’t be soon enough for my boys. (Her Siamese twins are pretty mad, too – they’re hissing at ME when I go out of this room. They know who brought these intruders into their home.)
BCN fans! Georgia’s Zazzle site is having an 15% off sale this weekend and she’s added a lot more Christmas and holiday items. Sadly no 2022 calendar yet though.
Blue Jays talk the talk, but mocking birds walk the walk. Blue Jays are all bluster and volume, but when the fewmets hit the air circulation device, mocking birds are the real deal. This year I have seen them chasing crows, vultures, red tailed hawks…and blue jays. In past seasons of “World of the bird feeder” I have seen them pull fur out of squirrels, and chase off cats stalking the feeder. And in the weight class mismatch of the century, I saw a male mocking birds run off a grown deer that was having a bit of a sunflower seed snack at the feeder, and he chased her and screamed in her ear for 50 yards just to make sure she got the message. There is a big window in my office and a sofa in front of it, the feeders are right outside; HD reality TV and a couch back to perch on for my indoor kitties!!! (The teeth clicking zone of the house ;-) )

It’s time for OUR NINE LIVES for some personal drama or the tag team wrestling the humans are so fond of for physical drama.

I’m pretty sure those two lines are to indicate the window glass, but I like to think they also mean that Baba Mouse’s tail is still twitching.

That’s Entertainment!
A fight, the the Jasons take flight
Or the leaves falling down from the trees
Or a cat chasing birds in combat,
That’s Entertainment!
…….
Friends of yours off’ring to pick a fight
Having drama, that is really outa sight!
A grand poof, can be really alright,
That’s Entertainment!
…….
The window’s applied to the world just outside
Showing examples of things to be tried
Maybe real or make believe,
Chasing falling autumn leaves!
…….
And inside, human antics abound,
Kids and grown-ups all running around,
Op’ning cans, what a beautiful sound!
The home is a stage, the window’s a world
Of Entertainment!

Baba’s taking away
I don’t know why
I’m sad to see that there’s no Jay
Today’s another fight to find for you
Sighin’ away
I’ll be coming for your roughness, okay?
Fake on me, (fake on me)
Fake me on, (fake on me)
It’ll be fun
For a day or two
