I can remember how much fun I had doing such things. When I really got into it, such play could keep me occupied for hours, which I’m sure my mother was grateful for.
Sitting thru Nicholas, now a hurricanes. Lights flickered a few times. We took care of the outside of the house and topped off our supplies earlier today. Should be ok and it is supposed to be done here by the afternoon.
I see a Rubik’s cube is one of the menu offerings. I wonder if this was a donation from The Man to get the restaurant off and running. I had one in high school, never could solve it or its cousin the “Alexander’s Star” which came out shortly after Rubik’s did.
Anyhow, I love the imagination of the kids! Its a great learning experience and lets The Woman relax as she is probably still nursing that sore knee! I wonder if BCN will do a full review and give it 5 stars???
Girl: “Come on, come on, come on – don’t give me that. Come on, let’s go, let’s go, we gotta have turnover! You want a scarfburger? Everybody got a scarfburger, you want a scarfburger? Come on – scarfburger?”
Beatrixia: How did you decide to become a chef, Thomios?
Thomios: Well, I’ve always been fascinated with food. When a chance for an apprenticeship opened up at the palace, I was honored to be selected.
Reminiscing
Royal Chef, Tabbouleh: Thomios, welcome to the royal kitchen. Here you will learn to prepare meals for His Majesty, Omari-Kat.
Thomios: I will do my best to learn be a good chef, sir.
Tabbouleh: You will do better than your best. I can tell already you have the makings of a great chef. First, I want you to make these ground chickpeas into patties for frying.
Thomios: What will they become, sir?
Tabbouleh: They will become a fabulous delicacy for the fall feast known as falafel.
Finishing reminiscing
Thomios: And that’s how it all began. Eventually Tabbouleh retired to Florida when His Majesty did. He currently runs Fabulous Florida Falafel to this day.
Headphones, mittens, balls and jacks, Rubik’’s cube, and colorful fuzzy somethings. Salt and pepper to season. And that scarf being scarfed up by Puck.
PLEASE NOTE Here’s a reminder for all Orbsters who are able to get a flu shot to do so. It takes a couple of weeks to be fully effective. I got mine today, so I’ll be covered by October 1, the beginning of flu season. I know we’re all caught up in the Covid vax, and now the boosters, but don’t forget about “good” old-fashioned flu, which is miserable at best and can also be deadly under certain circumstances. And don’t forget about the pneumonia vax if you’re of an eligible age. We’ve made it so far, let’s keep our guard up against as many nasties as possible!
…he got outbid…BOO HISS! We don’t know by how much, but the place had only been on the market since Friday! That’s the crazy market for ya.
Sis says he was excited, but now he’s discouraged, poor guy. Oh well, maybe he’ll get lucky next time…
In other news:
R has finally found a neurosurgeon who will take his insurance, so he has an apointment in a couple of weeks. His glasses are definitely helping ease his headaches, but his head still hurts & of course, so does his back…
And last but not least:
2 NEW PREGGO FERAL MOMCATS have just arrived at TinyKittens! They’re best friends, so they’re spending a lot of time snuggled up together:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOwC0CbtJSs
Both have type B blood, so their kittens will need to be tested & possibly isolated & bottle-fed for 24 hours so antibodies from their mamas’ milk won’t kill them. Stay tuned…
There is a brand of play food that stands out from the rest. As a grandparent I have relatively recent experience in that market space. The initials of the company are M and D.
