Imagine the three days of this week with Luann at a different restaurant, playing the Ox role listening to a veteran waitress there explaining her duties if Luann were to become a waiter there? It would have been funny nd Luann-centric
Ugh. Why did this family bother to go to a restaurant for some pizzas? Just toss a frozen one in the oven. Or call in a delivery. If you gotta behave like this, do us a favor and have your meal at home, okay? Just order something and stay home and leave the rest of us in peace. And Tiff…that family could be your ultimate challenge. Up for that? Charm them into separating them from a few extra bucks into your pockets. If you get the kids back in their seats and eat properly, the mom might slip you a big tip.
Just as I’ve said about this arc, waitressing is a front stage profession and someone like Tiffany is well suited to performing, for good reasons. Her suggestion to Ox on the table from hell in panel 3. WWE is not the stage she best performs in.
Middle panel: Guy in green shirt, trying to hide behind a slice of pizza, just told screeching female that he has been having an affair with their marriage counselor.
Ox doesn’t have to agree to take care of that table. Tiffany is too sure it’s him who has to deal with every troubled situation and not her. But a good actress must be able to face all kinds of problems on her stage. She NEEDS to deal with some troubled situation.
Either Tiffany doesn’t want to deal with a family of rude customers right now or she just likes taking advantage of Ox, retaining some of her bullying qualities.
Did she drop the baby or deliberately take her out of her high chair ro place her on the floor under the falling soda? Mother is wrong in this one, or the call just came in that she is expecting the second one!
That scene should never have reached that point. Now it may require the police or owner/manager. Logic aside, I wouldn’t want to clear that table either. But Tiffany is passing the buck. Wonder if Ox will handle it . They both should go. Or get TJ involved.
Actually, parties with small children/babies are a waitstaff nightmare, no matter how well-behaved. They always leave behind a mulch of fragments, half-eaten this and that, chewed crayons, spilled liquids, and miscellaneous glop. In many cases, this is preceded by various kinds of misbehavior involving loud voices and possibly (but not inevitably) parental admonitions. Still, the scene sketched in the last panel is at the extreme end of ghastly.
I once asked my mother how she and Dad handled us in restaurants, back when we were younger than, say, six. She looked surprised and said, “We didn’t TAKE you to restaurants when you were that young!”
I’m reminded of seeing the actor jonathan Frakes once talk saying he had a degree in acting which qualified him to wait tables in any of the five boroughs but he was the worst waiter in the history of NYC
Tiffany’s long-suspected Sense of Humor is finally showing! She’s kidding you, Oxford, though at the same time I am sure she would rather that big manly you deal with those slovenly slackers (who probably won’t even leave a tip)….

Embrace becoming the waitress that your acting talents can support. Avoid the tragedies in panel two if you can.

They already have an Ox in that scene, it’s small and sitting on the floor. What a jumbled mess of a panel, though. Perspective who?

I know what some of you are thinking:
“Tiffany’s Shallow!”
“Tiffany hasn’t grown up a bit!”
“The Cowboys stink!”
“Tiffany’s a User, and has absolutely no business being with Ox!”
Well just think about this for a second and consider the only other Unmarried Couple active in the Strip.
A couple where:
1) One partner dominates the other.
2) One partner rarely considers the other partner’s feelings.
3) One partner takes advantage of the other.
4) One partner takes the other partner for granted.
And many “folks” consider that young couple a “successful work in progress.”
On that basis alone a Tiff/Ox pair-up would be a match made in Heaven.
Or Havana. ;-)

Now for the big decision – a firehose or a Kubota tractor for cleanup.
