So far the pictures aren’t showing in my browser, so I’ll carry on with the question I asked yesterday. What is a “theme”, and why does a party need one? One reply I got used the phrase “themed parties like a Twenties speakeasy”. What does that mean? How is a party themed? And why? Back in the days when I went to parties, they required cheap booze, people, more cheap booze, music, a few sancks, maybe, and some more cheap booze. They might have had themes, but since I don’t know what a party theme is, I can’t be sure.
I predict that the cat sitter will drop by. It is unthinkable that Mommy’s Precious Boy would be left unsupervised for up to a day, especially since he gets, ahem, kibble specifically for senior cats.

Etsy seems to be going the way eBay did….from a community of small sellers to adding mass market cheap junk and cutting the real creators profits from their sales. As Elvis would say “Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssss!”
Although the main focus is of course the party, the fact that the People (I’m so tired I typed pizza at first) left out so much food again leads me to wonder what they are doing. No, there can never be too much. Also, in the last panel, I cannot tell if Lupin is ringing his bell to be annoying or trying to stop it.
Posted this so late yesterday, I’m posting again: O.T. Serious facebook post from Georgia on Etsy Problems: "Though I do not have originals for sale right now, I’m striking in solidarity with other Etsy sellers this week! Etsy used to be a wonderful site for artists and creators. From 2011 to 2017, I was happy to use Etsy for selling my paintings, prints, and illustrations. Over the last few years however, it has moved further and further away from creators to embrace bigger and bigger business. It’s very frustrating.Raising fees from 3% to 5%, and now from 5% to 6.5%. Allowing third party mass produced items, harming the site’s credibility as a place to find thoughtful handmade goods. Pushing free shipping expectations, hurting small businesses. Even as a nationally syndicated cartoonist, I can’t (and don’t) offer free shipping, because I could not afford to front $5-6 per shipping for hundreds of orders. Very few folks could. There was a personal touch to selling our art on Etsy that has been stripped with each new “big business, less human touch” decision. My last sale Etsy’s automated system flagged several orders from BCN readers as fraud and automatically canceled the sales without contacting me. It triggered canned emails to those readers that I had canceled them. I was mortified. I felt like I had invited my readers to a previously fun space, only for that space to shut them out AND call them thieves. Beatrix would say “WHOA! Not a cute look!” It was confusing and embarrassing enough that I feel like I can’t trust Etsy to handle a transaction on my behalf again. I have been making plans to put together a new sales site elsewhere since this past originals sale debacle. I hope so much that Etsy can take a step back and rediscover the soul of what used to be a lovely, safe, affordable site to sell handmade and vintage-found goods. And so, my shop is on vacation, even without originals at the moment. I felt it was important to still strike with other sellers. "
The most obvious themed party that I believe the majority of the American public would gladly dress for and attend is a Superbowl party- everyone dresses and/or decorates in the colors of their favored team.

For a party? Depends on the number invited. The fewer the more likely enough snacks of overnight is enough. The more invited, the more likely you need to buy out a warehouse store.
Is anyone else having problems seeing responses? I can see I got responses, but for a couple days now unless it was to a strip that’s several years old, I’ll go to the strip I commented in, but then it doesn’t take me to the response and I have to find my comment or hope I can find a comment I responsed to see what people’s responses to me are.

Jon once left Garfield a week’s worth of food, which he promptly ate in eleven seconds. So no, that will not be enough snacks.

Do they mean cats snacks or people snacks. Some cats like people snacks. I had a cat who loved A potato chip.

So, the theme of the party is Tusselmania, “Destroy the Furniture 2022!” as promoted on

Perhaps their invitation can include BYOS (Bring your own Snacks) to insure they don’t run short.
Luckily this crowd does not need the booze to have a good time.

A kitty with a bell
Hosts the party from heck
Hi-ho, so merry-o
The kitty with a bell
A kitty with a list
His parties – always hits
Hi-ho, the boas, though ❤️
The kitty with a list
A kitty made the calls
Phoned friends one and all
Hi-ho, in stere-o
The kitty made the calls
A kitty who is miffed
His undies in a twist
Hi-ho, contrary-o
The kitty who is miffed
The mice take some snacks
Security is lax
Oh no, not kebble-os!
The mice “borrow” snacks
A mouse brings some cheese
Good gouda, sure to please
Hi-ho, the dairy-o
The mouse cuts the cheese
A kitty stands alone
Wants the Woman home
Hi-ho, he worries so
One kitty stands alone

If it was supposed to only be enough for approximately 36 hours for the cats that live there then no, it will not be enough snacks.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the lair of the Royal Procurers
Agnes-Ata: Puckmosis made out a scroll of the things he needs for the Grand Party.
Alice-Ata: Hmm…Violet-Ifa, you go to the Royal Pantry and see what they have there. Let us know what we need to procure.
Violet-Ifa: On it!
Alice-Ata: Great. Tash, can you see if the Artists need any help from Afar. We may need to ask Avenger or Emma to take us there.
Ta-Natash: We’re in luck. Adobe Style and Iron Glove are here going over the 700s with Tillie and Soph. I think Arachna came along as well.
Alice-Ata: Wonderful. We just may need her to weave some spider silk for us. Alright…All together now!
All: We’ll never tell!!

That’s the x3 rule. If you cats for 3 days, and don’t have someone checking in, you must leave them an oversized bowl with 9 days worth of food.
