The first time a worker came to our apartment after I adopted my sweet Milo (pictured at left), he commented, “What a beautiful princess!” Milo was always so friendly and relaxed around strangers.♥
OT: I lost my link to our suddenly bereaved sister Orbster whose adult son passed away. Has anyone heard from her since the funeral? At least, would anyone point me back to her last post?
Lupin is so charming when he wants to be. I love that he is getting all this adoration. Georgia said that the real Lupin was the life of the party, and I certainly believe it. The attention could be yours Elvis, if you could bring yourself to stand people.
Serfig-Aro: Welcome to the annual running of the Bell Ringer Stakes. Calling the race will be guest announcer, Bob Ross-Painter. Bob?
Bob: Thank you, Figs. Ladies and Gentlecats and all sentients, we have a exciting race today. But remember the teal excitement is not in the winning, but the journey.
Bob Continues: The horses are lining up at the gate. I see colors ranging from Bright Red to Pthalo Blue, Sap Green, and Yellow Ochre. Now the race begins, and we see Mighty Casey take the lead. Remember that it’s always nice to get off to a good start. Now we see Seattle Slaw challenging for the lead. You should always challenge yourself to improve. Now in the home stretch there is a happy little opening, with Avenger coming up on the outside. As important as it is to begin well, it is also most important to finish well. Avenger is doing just that. Avenger wins the race, and the Triple Crown.
Sometime Later
Thomios: Uncle Floofnet and I have a special buffet for the horses. We have a selection of hays courtesy of the Cosmo Nursery, an oat and grain buffet, and plenty of fruit. Help yourselves.
Floofnet the Joyous: And for our audience, we have the traditional Catnip Jewel cocktail and Bacon and More Bacon Popcorn!
Lupinium: And I get to wear this bell around my neck all day.
Elvis-Anum: Not again. I just got rid of the other one.
Lupinium: Not to worry. After today, I intend to present it to our favorite filly, Diana!
Off-topic: literal paraphasia. It causes me to frequently type entirely the wrong word. I proofread everything multiple times but still mistakes get through that I notice days later. Bear with me and rely on context if you see one of these “conveve” moments. :)
(I actually had to re-post this because I substituted “paraclesia” for “paraphasia”. Hate it when that happens.)
Color me confused. Our house roofers have never dangled from harnesses while having their lunch. They always get down off the structure and try to find some shade to stretch out in to eat and rest, preferably near a big cooler of cold water and cold drinks!
My cat Wilamena was highly photogenic and loved to “vogue” for my camera. She would even sit still long enough for sketches. Staring is normally considered agressive behavior to cats but they can learn that humans don’t know any better and accept it as admiration. If you get the “slow blink” in return, the feeling is mutual.

This might turn out to be a long lunch break, especially if one of the admirers is the foreman!

As if “be quiet” makes any difference to Lupin. He’s just rubbing it in. XD

All Lupin has to do now is show the roofers his pretty pink toe beans, and they’ll spend the rest of the day squeeing!

So now we’ve established that, unlike Puck, Lupin doesn’t care if he’s mistaken for a girl, as long as he gets love and attention. Heehee.

I love how Lupin loves the attention so much, he doesn’t even mind that they think he’s a girl.

Wow, Lupin sure knows how to play to the crowd! Of course he starts out with a big advantage in the adorable department.

At all lunch time has come
Here but still the work’s not done
See, Lupin doesn’t fear the roofer
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
Cats can snooze like they are
Come on, Lupin (don’t fear the roofer)
Who’s a sleepy lamb? (don’t fear the roofer)
We’ll be able to sigh (toebeans don’t fear the roofer)
Mister, I’m a man

Lupin was a li’l lamb,
His fleece was white as snow, yeah.
Everywhere the roofers went,
The little lamb was sure to go, yeah.
He snoozed before the window one day,
And showed his toe beans, cool!
What a time did they have,
A squeee was on the rule
Tiskal, taskal,
This green eyed fellow rascal
Sent a snoring through the pane,
On the way they passed it.
