“Listen kid, back in the good old days, before all this new-newfangled technology, this story was terrifying! "
(Of course, back then, we had to walk to school, uphill, through the snow! And bring the water in from the well! And there was no wi-fi . . . anywhere!)
Elvis is so analogue. He’d better stop before Beatrix decides to tell some birds his business. At least his pivot has her looking properly freaked in the final panel.
Tabith-Isis: Welcome, one and all to the opening game of the National Paw Ball League. Our two teams facing off will be the Punn State Mountain Lions and the North and South Wildcats. I have here as my guest announcer Wicket, coach of the Owl Temple Basketball team. Wicket, it’s good to see you.
Wicket: Thank you, T. And I’d like to give a shout-out to my good friend Lupinium, my favorite 1-on-1 player. I understand his Advanced Tumbling class will be providing the halftime program.
Tabith-Isis: That’s right. He is partnering with Clawson Crackle with the Crinkly Crabs percussion team and our own Serfig-Aro’s 76 and More Marching Band. And now here’s the coin toss.
Referee: North and South has won the toss. They have elected to kick.
Tabith-Isis: And the Wildcat’s kicker Ty Margay, kicks the ball. Calvin Caracal catches it. He is stopped at the 30 cubit line for a run of 20 cubits. The Mountain Lions have the ball first and 10.
Wicket: Looks like the start of a very exciting game.

Beatrix hasn’t learned the concept of mouth closed, ears open!
But oh those TOEBEANS!

Modern tech ruins these stories. And did Puck just begin next week’s adventure?

Ghost stories? Kittens can be scarier than any story.

And now tell her about the real moment of horror when the cat-sitter slowly turns around to see that there’s A CUCUMBER lying behind her…

Poor Elvis. It seems he is so old he remembers the Dark Times before cell phones!
…Actually, I also remember those times. When did my generation get so old?!

Performed by the Classics IV and Others: Spooky
Late in the evening when everyone is feeling kind of wary,
We gather around the heater and tell stories that are awfully scary,
Just when Bea’s questions interrupt Elvis’ story,
He quickly changes it, and tells it in all glory!
We love these cats like crazy, even when it gets spooky, too!
…….
The flashlights add their bit to the spooky atmospherics,
And maybe unseen there is Tillie and her fellow spirits,
And what is that commotion in the nursery, now?
Are the kids alright? And is Lupin around?
We love these cats like crazy, even when it gets spooky, too!
Spooky!
…….
Adventures await now that it’s the month of October!
Scary stories, a purple room, so many happenings all over!
What lies in store remains to be seen,
Can hardly wait,
Until Halloween!
We love these cats like crazy, even when it gets spooky, too!

You know, even with wi-fi and all that, the idea of unknown phone calls are coming from within your own house is still kinda spooky.
