The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology notes, “hibernating bears have elevated cholesterol and triglyceride levels, but their arteries do not become clogged.” And a loved one is taking prescription medicine derived from black bear bile to control gall stones.
I suppose that could work for a male hibernating bear who can sleep with his dingdong in his mouth, but how would a female bear be able to swallow her urine? Her mouth wouldn’t be able to reach herself before it spills on the ground..

Actually, someone did kind of ask. That someone was Clumsy himself – he provided both the question and an elaboration on the answer.

Well, I was kind of wondering why the energy in urea was being wasted, by dumping it out in pee.
Now I know it isn’t always, by all mammals.
Do bears do this the rest of the year, at least to a limited extent?

Okay. Now I have to look that up. Drat this new fact checking society. Why couldn’t we stick to plain ol’ “no laws of physics” Bugs Bunny and the lot?

I can’t even make it through the one night without a bathroom run (literally) or two. It would be nice if humans could recycle urine at night.

The way you’re probably imagining it happening, is not how it happens.
Urea is not urine. It is in urine. Not the same.
