I agree! One of my neighbors has one of those giant skeletons in there front yard. I hate it! They even leave it up during Christmas and decorate it. To me that’s disgusting! I passed by it every time I leave the neighborhood. Yesterday after gail winds from the day before, it’s head was missing. LOL I hope they don’t find it!
There’s a family near us that has some of those skeletons, but they have some clever set ups. One year they had one skeleton on a riding mover and several others pushing the mower. All of the skellies had on hats or scarves, and it was pretty nifty.
When I was a young student, I had a real human skeleton, who slept in a wooden box under my bed (Dad bought it for me). My Mother was “creeped out.” I christened him ‘Yorick.’ I had to sell him to another student, as I was short of cash.
I recently drove through a neighborhood other than mine and saw a house with at least a dozen life size skeletons. Planning to find it again at night to see how it looks then! I love Halloween decorations.
Our local Sams Club has a skeleton riding on a robotic floor sweeper. It’s comical when it passes you in the aisle because it bounces around like it’s actually driving.
Several neighbors have the most gruesome decorations for Halloween. Dog and human skeletons, and figures hanging from trees. I like Autumn decorations like pumpkins, bales of hay and wreathes, but not the disturbing ones.

Arlo, you have one. A little smaller, but you have one.
And 100% natural in appearance.

He already has one. He only has to search deep within himself.

I really hate these decorations, if it’s not giant skeletons, it’s blood and gore.

I’m with Janis, I’ll be glad when Halloween is over.

I thought about getting one of those from the Home Depot and having it lean against my house, waving to passersby…
Except they’re out of stock

When it comes to Halloween I’m just in it for the candy.

Bah and humbug. I always buy too much candy and I eat the leftovers.
It’s the start of the “Eating season” and it lasts til Easter.

I’m with you, Arlo – and put a garland of roses around the skull!
We are everywhere.

Do a Google search for the skeletons of Northville, Michigan, and switch it to images. The whole town gets into it over there!

Gotta admit that I’ve seen some pretty impressive Halloween yard decorations the last couple weeks.

Too late. A week before Halloween, and all they have at the store are Christmas decorations.

And after Halloween, they can be disassembled and the spine sent to Congress…

Saw one in town the other day. Thought it was cool. Found one in the store, and saw the price. Decided it wan’t that cool.

Do we really need Halloween? Isn’t there enough weirdness around us already?

Some neighbor here has a giant chimp with symbols from Stephen King’s Skeleton Crew book. Really creepy.

I put up some orange lights and lighted (artificial) pumpkins. And I give out the candy to the trick-or-treaters, even the ones who are clearly teens.

My neighbor has 2 guarding each side of his door. He beat me to it!

Displays of plastic eyeballs can be fun, too.
