There must be a lot more fillers or something in the formula they use, I’m finding more uneaten wet food every morning. Usual favorites are nibble a few times and abandoned. Poody who eats literally everything will get desperate in the middle of the night and eat a bit more. I put the leftovers in the outside bowl, and it disappears, at least the locals like it.I’ve bought a few cans of the friskies and poody will eat them no problem, Roy will just sniff them, he knows they are crap. Likewise, I’m thinking I may have to start making it for them from scratch.
Eh what be that steenky looking brown gloop? Feeds em real foods ya steenky hyoomins. Like fishies, chicken, porkys for examples. No these steenky manufactured trash.
Speaking of black kitties. One of our black panthers stole a bag off the counter that Marie had brought home which contained hamburgers and fries. This scavenger was after a couple of fries left in the bottom of said bag. This kitty, who shall be nameless (but his name does begin with the name of a delicious breakfast/lunch meat), ran with the bag into the living room and then proceeded to crawl inside after the few remaining fries (or chips for our overseas friends). Holmes and Holly Bear looked upon this frankly embarrassing scene of a lack of personal control with pity, while the humans retrieved the bag.
This really looks post processing….are we sure Puck didn’t eat it already ?
The Panther knows what to hunt in the quiet of the jungle, and what is game for his table.
He perches on the Kapok tree, but this day, only a lowly honey badger and an unpalatable tree sloth (with three toes) have been adventurous enough to laboriously pass within his grasp. The badger is all gristle and grit, thick fur and fury, merely a morsel for all the trouble this little devil can bring. The sloth is stringy and strapping, not a suitable meal for the Apex Predator of this jungle.
The panther, able to quickly bring down a Caimen, venison, or other large game, does not want the lean substitutes that others must accept. The others say, “surely this will sustain you, our champion of the hunt, why won’t you accept what the jungle offers”
“To make do?”
This is what separates me from the other Alpha Cats thinks the panther, my unwillingness to relent in the face of collapse. To only accept the top bounty that the jungle can offer.
Curiously I am going through something similar right now. But with my Biewers Yorkie (who was raised by a cat). DeeDee has decided she only wants dog food with ingredients she shouldn’t have (allergies). 3 days of pouting, begging, whining and hungries and guess who is eating the new dog food just fine….
OT — I’m baaaack There’s been naught wrong with me which hasn’t been wrong with me for decades. I just got busy and neglected BCN and The Orb. I’ll try to avoid doing so again.
Why would you change cat food if the old one was just fine? You can get some tummy troubles that way. And, with so many cats, it would take a while to figure whose tummy troubles, if any, it is!
Psst. Hey cat, looks over there, a couple o nice juicy little robber mouseys. Best foods for kitty hunger! Quick pounce upon em before they is gets away!
I’m glad I finally got around to mixing up my homemade hot chocolate mix before this latest cold snap. I also discovered that adding a few drops of coconut syrup to my mug makes it like drinking a Mounds candy bar. Yummy!
I ran out of the cats’ favorite kibble. And money at the same time. Neighbor had given me a gift certificate for the local pet supply store, so I got the “good” stuff for them. Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope! They won’t eat it. Thankfully the feral cats will.
An upset Pucky (little smack of paw). The Woman should have mixed the new with the old. That’s what I’ve always done, that way they get both for a while and I can switch over to the new with no fussy kitties.
I feel like Puck. Roads iced over, running lowish on groceries after five days of being trapped, and they closed doordash and grocery delivery. We won’t starve but dinner would not have been my first pick. And now a boil water alert because of all the broken city water mains. Supposed to be a wind storm tomorrow morning (can you say power outages) and then two more days of freezing weather. I’m really over this. How’s everyone else doing? Warm and well fed I hope! At least I managed to get cat food and bird seed in before the storm.

It was nice of Elvis — I always love his little half glasses / readers — to bring Puck’s PJs and single fuzzy slipper.

Hunger makes cats cranky.
None of my cats were/are picky, thank Bastet.
Aaand Monroe is squirrelybonkers, racing through the house. He really loves an open plan, especially since only the outside doors are closed.

Fun fact: A clowder of cats can also be called a glaring!

New food proved too much for poor Puck
(Too much for sweet Puck)
(He couldn’t take it)
So, he’s grieving the meals he’d come to know, oh
He thinks he’s never gonna find
(Never gonna find)
What won’t make him hurl
Like the food he’s left behind
Not so long ago
He’s feeling
(Feeling)
All that midnight pain from Georgia
(Midnight pain)
Hmm, yeah
He’d rather starve in his world
(Starve in his world)
Than have new food and dine

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
At the Cosmo Nursery
Trevor-Hotep: Thanks for helping with the pizza tree harvest, guys. I’ve saved a few pizzas to take back with you.
Awhil-Fixit the Seventh (Wally): I can’t wait to have a pepperoni and more pepperoni pizza.
Iggy Shipwright: I think I’ll go with a white pizza with cat friendly onions and peppers.
Iron Glove: White pizza with acorns for me!
At the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: Coming right up, pizzas made to order for the harvesters.
Iggy: Thanks, Thomios. You’re the best.
Wally: The Harvesters. Sounds like a good for name for a band.
Enter Ora Z
Ora Z: Glad to see you guys are back! Can you help with shredding some pizza toppings for the kittens at the Happy Healthy Hospital Pyramid?
Iron Glove: Sure! What do you need?
Ora Z: We’re looking for some tasty but healthy toppings, but also suitable for a food fight!
Iron Glove: Bring it on!

My favorite part of this is the pajamas so neat and tidy, like they are freshly washed — and dare I say ironed. They look so comforting that way.
Second favorite is the little floor slap.
All so sweet. Poor Pucky.
Okay, Puck, you’ve had your moment of drama. Time to get up off the floor, put on the PJ’s, and get in bed.
