Seems like as good a reason as any to ‘make’ Easter eggs. Not so good if you have to hard boil them first so they won’t crack, however – especially if you’re a hen …
Question for the US, do you also have chocolate bells and fishes as well as rabbits and eggs? When I told an American friend we had all those she said fishes and bells did not exist in the US and I wonder if she was pulling my leg. Both of them in fact.
Gotta love it, makes as much sense as anything, a day all about rabbits and chickens works for me, but the chickens and the bunnys turn to chocolate right . ;-)

What does it mean if Jesus sees his shadow when he comes out of the tomb?

Did the chickens hard boil them as well?

Wouldn’t it had just been easier to leave one chicken in the coop to guard the eggs? Sorry, I was raised to be a Devil’s Advocate. Hoppy Easter!

It makes as much sense as any other colored egg origin story.

And the chickens make chocolate effigies of the rabbits and bite off their ears.

Many years ago, a friend sent me an Easter card. The front had several decorative looking eggs, and a basket.
The inside was a very upset chicken, screaming “Who painted my CHILDREN !?!”

They must be Ukrainian chickens.

Did those eggs get pulled out of a chicken’s ‘’creative research’’?

A very good but very unusual story for Danae. No destruction.

Now, contrive a backstory for the hidden eggs being hard boiled.

That assumes the chickens would have known in advance when the raid was going to take place. They must have had spies in the rabbit network

This year the chickens cancelled the traditional day of Easter egg hunts and replaced it with Trans Visibility Day. No wonder Jesus Wept.

Colorful eggs are nice, and all, but let’s not forget the real “reason for the season”… candy!

I said, “I can’t, it’s Lent.”
She said, “To whom? And for how long?”

I wonder ….. do mama hens ever resent the farmers who keep coming around to steal their babies?

At least we only hunt for the eggs. Not the chickens or rabbits. At least for today.
