Brutal.

Well, it’s not exactly Mark Antony’s funeral oration for Julius Caesar …

If that was Bob speaking, he did not demonstrate using the rule.

But if you can’t think of a single nice thing to say about him, it could mean he was a pretty bad person.

Another thing you could always say- “He had potential.”

“He wasn’t as bad all the time as he was some of the time.” or “His brother was worse.”

Well, it could be said, ‘he wished he hadn’t run for Congress.’ That could be a life ending task if he ran on a platform not approved by the current group of numbots.

He made the world a brighter place, in having never run for congress.

The only nice thing I can find to say about the current crop of “trash talker” politicians is that they are not animals, vermin, rapists and murderers and I believe that their offspring aren’t poison. They are fellow human beings which is more than they will acknowledge about other human beings.

All to often with the higher offices, if you’re not dishonourable when you started, you’re dishonourable by the time you’re finished there. In light of that, I can think of worse things to say in a eulogy than to refer to someone as being honourable.

“If you can’t say anything nice about the dead don’t say anything at all. Well, he’s dead.” Moms Mabley.

“As a dentist this is the largest cavity he’s ever filled.”

A lot of politicians could have done more good for the world by not entering politics.

If you can’t say anything nice about somebody — anybody, really — adopt the alias “old recluse” and show up here on GoComics and annoy the crap out of all of them.

This reminds me of the Presidential Debate between DJT and Hillary Clinton, when the moderator (Matt Lauer??) wanted them each to say ONE nice thing about the other. They both struggled mightily, and the results were laughably lame.

I guess what he said could be considered “nice”. Otherwise, it would be weird to have everybody just standing around the grave not saying anything.

When I die I want a slap of stone above my body saying, “Go ahead, walk on me, everybody else did”.

But he did run for president, three times, but really just wanted to be a king

I suppose “faint praise” is better than no praise at all.

Right then, say no more, wink, wink nudge, nudge. Off you go. (how I imagine my eulogy will sound)

Actually, I think that what he said was a compliment, given the majority of our current pols.

That grave site is too neat. Where’s the dirt removed from the grave and needed to fill up the grave?

The preacher was trying to get someone to say something, anything, nice about the deceased, but no one would speak. He pleaded, “Can’t anyone say something good about this man?” At last, an old guy in the back stood and said, “His brother was worse than he was.”

It would appear that Bob isn’t adhering to anything at the moment.
