Well, I mean, Cal was only trying to ‘tailor’ the furniture to his personal height. What’s so bad about that?

Guess what I saw?

“Play a board game?” Unless you’re willing to play too, Mom, it’s hard to play board games alone, and Calvin’s an only child. I once tried to play checkers against myself. No fun.

we had thunder and lightning today. it was exciting.

When kids and puppies get quiet, it’s time to see what they’re up too.

“Calvin the Lightening Bolt”?? That a new twist.

“No, no Calvin…it’s ‘I saw a chair’, or ‘I have seen a chair’, not ‘I sawed a chair’….CALVIN!!!

Calvin is the only person that can play a board game and lose. He can’t even cheat well!

The Mom lightning rod caught the Calvin bolt and saved the house!

Mom sees all…. and prevents some of it from happening.

I love how the mom is suggesting he play a board game…by himself. She’s not offering to play with him. In fact we only ever see her play with her son when she has an ulterior motive.

Will you play with him, Mom?

I would think Calvin would like to go play in the rain. Think of all that splashing and mud puddles! Sailing boats in the gutter! Calvinball in the rain would be a hoot!

I love how Calvin’s face looks on the lightning bolt in the second panel. Also, I picture the classic Disney/Hanna-Barbera “Castle Thunder” sound effects accompanying Calvin the Lightning Bolt.
