Luann has managed, once again, to convince Bernice to live life instead of avoid it. Now they seem ready to do what they wanted to do at the park since the beginning. Try to imitate Lily and walk through it to meet their love. it will be fun, sweet and awkward to watch them try it. Maybe they will meet Nil, or Jack, or Piro and see it as a romance novels sign of destiny. Or maybe they will meet some new character, someone who may become important to at least one of them.
I’m trying to decide how to score this conversation against the Bechdel Test. On the one hand, while the dialogue mentions “a man”, it’s in the sense a hypothetical man who LuAnn is saying they don’t need. On the other, there are the silhouetted figures in the last panel who are only implied to be relevant but not literally in the conversation.
I still enjoy the strip and the main characters, but IMO it’s time to move the story along. It seems to me that either or both girls could meet someone and establish a full relationship without making a huge deal out of the physical part. Just be matter of fact about it. If they’re trying to draw it out hoping to keep us interested, it isn’t working.
Men and Women are naturally made for each other. God ensured that each had their own role and their own unique strengths. The natural attraction to the opposite sex should be encouraged so that men and women can marry and have many children. Also one of God’s purpose for Marriage.

Yesterday Bernice just wanted to read. Today she’s saying yes to so unasked question. I think I’m getting whiplash from trying to follow this story.

You leave the silhouette people alone for 2 days and the next thing you know they have reproduced and made more of them.

Luann is so flat that she has that little bow on the dress to tell which is the front and which is the back.

Even strong, modern independent women like Luann and Bernice can’t resist ogling attractive men.

Finish the sentence, Luann. Is it just companionship from the other gender you seek, or, something potentially more interesting?

If this arc ends with both of them having one-night stands I will take back every negative thing I’ve said about this strip.

The silhouette ball players are more defined than any of the other Luann characters.

Bernice’s problem (and Luann’s) is the fact they’re very h_rny. Especially, Bernice.
