Did she go to the fabric store? If not, it looks like not going didn’t kill her.

Earl just found something more boring than going to a fabric store…

It’s true. It’s pretty boring. My ex used to make me go.

He’ll be totally “board” for the next year.

Find a better way of expressing yourself next time.

Do they still make clothes that need to be ironed?

Opal will ot be able to stand Earl’s ironing for a week – the first time he burns an iron imprint on her favorite apron she will take the iron away from him (and maybe make him go to the fabric shop with her to pick out matrial to make a new apron.

And this is why volunteerism is gasping for breath.

I earn time at HarborFreight by taking my wife to the fabric store. I don’t mind because she also fixes my zippers.

As Judge Judy would say: "God gives us one mouth two ears for a reason.

Disc Replay is next to the fabric store. I go there, she takes her time in the fabric store.

Why iron, when you can buy non-iron cloths?

I know how Earl feels. I too had to go with my mother to one many times when I was young. Being ADHD (Unknown at the time) I too was bored out of my skull.

My husband is the type that doesn’t like doing anything alone so during 25yrs of marriage I’ve many times been drug along to the hardware or automotive store!

I don’t mind stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, Western Ace, Tractor Supply… because they often have many household or gardening items to look at but places like Autozone, Napa, O’Reilly… sheesh I’ve even tried developing an interest in how motors work and will often ask him how something in particular works because even if the subject matter isn’t interesting to me I do enjoy how animated he gets explaining it lol. And at least these days I can look at stuff on my phone!

I’m a sewer and quilter and love fabrics. But I can see it would be boring to those who aren’t!

As soon as she said “Nothing?”, Earl should have known that whatever he responded with was going to be taken literally.

If she knows he hates going to the fabric store so much why would she even want him to go? what kind of company could he be if he mopes around with a misery face.

And, more to the point, who irons anymore? And, why??

I already do all the ironing, which is to say NONE! My wife does all of it too.

I like how it smells in those stores. And often there’s a chair and table available to sit. Bring a book or notebook.

Never, ever volunteer to do the ironing!!

I’d call it a “rookie mistake”, but Earl has been married long enough that he shouldn’t make such a blunder.

All Earl has to do is go to the fabric store and do something outrageously embarrassing to Opal so she turns all shades of red!

Then she will never ask him to go with her again!

Burn her shirt. She’ll never want you to iron again.
