And I thought yesterday’s strip could never be topped for thrills and spills!

Mr. Excitement himself, Eric, “Hey Abbott” Costello has given us jet fuel to start us off!

There’s no way other than down after this astonishing beginning!!!

These last two days have killed any momentum to whatever story this will turn out to be. But the visuals would have been great in a Sunday strip.

it’s been YEARS since I’ve been there, but is panel two a depiction of Union Station in Chicago?…

Tomorrow it’ll be a bakery, butcher and a delicatessen.

This is the city. There a a million stories in the city. The story you are about to see is true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

There are 8 million stories in Tracy City, this will be one of them!

Well, helps that the general outlines of the buildings are straight lines, but all those windows and smaller columns look like a lot of work for Mr Ettinger!

I see a lot of people don’t understand what story background is.

Maybe this story is a cross-over with Godzilla, who’s about to show up & trash Tracy’s hometown.

Day 2: Still no plot holes. A good start. I’m pumped. No, seriously. Not exactly pumped, but I’ve got no problem with a slow build – especially if it leads into a good story. (Of course I have no idea yet if it’s going to be a good storyline, but nothing has dashed my hopes yet.)

Some of you guys drive me crazy. I know that all you want is old school Tracy, but this is some cool stuff. Dramatic. Building tension. We’re building up to something here and the art is great.

The monument to journalism looks like it came from Metropolis (the movie). Hmmm . . . journalism . . . Metropolis . . .

Those monuments to Journalism aren’t what they used to be. The Sun-Times (Daily News) building now houses a hotel from a chain whose namesake provides great emotion from critics and supporters. The Tribune Tower now contains “luxurious residences” (wikipedia.And, the Tribune’s printing plant site, is the future home to a Chicago downtown casino.

Eric is reproducing a Hitchcockian opening with each day’s drawing getting more narrow in scope – city, large buildings, small buildings, floors of buildings, an individual apartment, an individual room, a piece of furniture in the room, a mouse hole in the room, a mouse nest in the… TOO FAR…BACK IT UP! BEEP BEEP BEEP!

Most interesting building in Chicago is the one housing Harry Caray’s restaurant. You can see it from just about any point in the city

A few years ago they tore down The Lexington Hotel, where Al Capone occupied most of the expensive rooms.City Historical society refused to landmark it

You know, for this they could have given Matthew an extra week.

NYC has beautiful buildings and great architecture. But they seem to have decided they’d rather build giant, ugly, glass needles instead.

Today and yesterday’s strips are beginning to look like the prologue of an episode of “Dragnet” where Jack Webb as Friday, talks about Los Angeles.
