The average person believes that they have above average intelligence.

Apparently in Germany you cannot insult a German politician otherwise you may be sued in court. See 60 Minutes last Sunday. Any racially or religious derogatory statements on the Internet will get you arrested. My email comes from a Germany service. I carefully word my emails…..ya!

In the U.S. it is common sport to use insulting language towards politicians.

I was going to write, “Animal abusers: you can criticize them, and surely no one will come to their defense.” But then there is Kristi Noem, Trump’s Secretary of Homeland Security, who shot her own puppy. And the Trumpites vociferously defend her.

Humor is practically illegal these days. Guess morals and entertainment don’t always go hand in hand.

And stupid knows no gender, race, ethnicity, body type, religion, philosophy, political affiliation, vocation, or nationality.

Dunning-Kruger is alive and well.

According to actual studies, sixty-five percent of the population believe themselves to be in the five percent that are above average in intelligence. Taken with the five percent who are above average, that leaves only thirty percent intelligent enough to recognize that they are not above average in intelligence.

So what if poking fun at an individual or group triggers angry letters to the editor – don’t people have a right to express their opinions? I don’t believe in “canceling” anyone over the slightest risque joke, but if you’re going to controversial, be prepared for backlash.

And sometimes you get justifiably fired. Not “canceled” – just fired. You’re still here, and you’re free to move on to something else, so you haven’t been “canceled.” But employers have rights too, and they don’t have to put up with everything you say or do.

It’s a pretty sad testament that quite a number of people in the comics can’t just let the rest of us enjoy totally innocent comics, without the politics thrown in.So, you can’t comment IN political comics. Then, email the powers that be, and ask them to allow it, again, since the election has been over for 3 months.If all some people have for a life, is to spout their political rhetoric, it might be time for a new life.

What about people with a sense of humor? Know what? Forget that. There aren’t enough of us.
