I think I agree with Bernice.

Looks like Bernice has moved the head of her bed to the side of the window. Luann’s bedroom is no longer on the opposite side of the headboard of Bern’s bed.

Therapist heal thyself! Besides, Luann is driving Tara’s get away van. Watch Bernice hop in her hooptie and follow the errant Miss DeGroot!

What a terrible situation. The two men that were conversing on a park bench on a lovely day are now tormenting Bernice. All this while she’s tries to put her suspicions to rest and get some sleep.

Poor tormented soul. Sleep deprivation can be serious and cause aberrant behavior.

BTW! Where is Luann going so late?

Now for the Luann and Tara events expressed through a dream sequence with Ben and Jack being the characters staging the action, in Bernice’s head, panel one being seen by Bernice before she goes to bed. Luann late at night, going to meet wild Tara. Contrary to all the one-track Bern haters, or the romance wonderers (me included) these panels shifts to the Luann/Tara caper, and Bern is so worried she can’t sleep. So much for friendship busting by a cold, selfish Bernice eh?

Hope we don’t stay in dreamland the rest of the week.

If your so darned “concerned” about Luann, take the munchkins advice and:

I do not have good vibes about Tara. I fear that the police might beat Luann to The Fuse, and the week will be something out of a Keystone Kops’ movie.

SO Jack is not gonna talk with Luann about her Tara problem.

So Luann is going to check on Tara, hopefully for her no one goes back to the Fuse late to get something they forgot and catches her there. Meanwhile Bern is just letter her control freak psyche go way out of control. Talk about having people rent space in her head, now its Tara, Luann, Jack and Ben. Let it go Bern, you should be relieved Luann is not sneaking around with Jack. When (not if) her and Tara get caught, then you can ask your former BFF what the devil she was thinking! As for Luann, her heart is in the right place but she does not ever think about consequences for one’s actions!

This strip has become like a car stuck in the mud. It’s spinning its wheels and going nowhere fast. Also, socially, they write like it’s 1961 and not 2021. Please bring these girls into the present day. They’re in college, not 5th grade. It doesn’t have to be the Kardashians but some semblance of current day reality. I’ve been loyal to this strip since it’s inception but it’s stagnat. Sorry, JMHO.

Conflicted.

We will have to see what happens in the morning. Of course, since Luann just drove off she will not hear Bernice yell “Will You Two Shut Up!”, Frank and Nancy most probably did, and will wonder just WHO Bernie had in HER room last night.

I’ve had nights like that (only not with the characters from this strip).

Am I the only one who finds it kinda creepy that her brother and her love interest seem to be equally important in Bernice’s mind?

Bernice needs to attach a tracker to Luann’s car to find out where she is going. I hear this is the stalker’s choice method nowadays.

Luann is going to get in trouble.

Bernice’s Spock & McCoy could use a shave.

Hmmm, Luann off to help Tara. Interesting. Opening the place or showing her the most comfortable places? Equally interesting is Bernice’s “shoulder angel/devil” are Ben and Jack. Ben listened to her but also challenged her. Little hard seeing him promoting what she wants (though ultimately he was, just not how she wanted it).

So, in Bernice’s imagination, Jack is the wise one♡. BEAUTIFUL! She has so much to learn from him♡. For Luann, doing all this in secret has to be really thrilling. Finally something exciting in her life! I hope Tara is fine♡. If her cousin follows her to The Fuse… that would be the End!

Mind Bender strip. Bern is watching LuAnn drive away, while LuAnne is in bed trying to sleep. Bern has a conversation with Jack going in her head. Said conversation is keeping LuAnne awake.Anyone, sorted this out?

We haven’t seen these kids in their school settings all year. The fact that Jack thought of Tara as a candidate suggests he has been hanging around with Luann and Tara at school and sees them together there alot.

Bernice is supposed to be learning psychology – all she has to do is act like she isn’t interested in what’s going on. It will only be a matter of time before the typically blabbermouthed Luann will have to tell someone about her big escapade. She really isn’t capable of keeping a secret for very long.

Not another week of Bernice obsessing over Luann….

Time for “relaxation exercises”. Make sure the shades are drawn and the door locked.

anyone think it is strange that the 3 of them is in Bernice’s room and she is suppose to be going to sleep? you would think that tey would be following her to see what she is up to. also the cartoon jumped from being in a park, with Bernice trying to get her brother away to all three in her bedroom.

Poor Bernice has a few too many people living in her head.

The nightmare would only get worse if Ben and Jack start dating.

“I can’t hear myself thinking for all my thinking.”

Late night rumination . . . it’s hard to sleep when you have something on your mind and your mind won’t SHUT UP.

Bernice has always reminded me of my best friend from sixth grade through high school. After we grew up, she came over and said, “Oh, you are so lucky. Your kitchen floor is just like ours. It doesn’t show the dirt.” My kitchen floor was white, I just mopped it, and it looked nothing like hers. We are no longer in touch.

If we’re gonna have more dreams – make them fun – like a naked (side view) Bernice trying to find her clothes, and a fully clothed Jack trying to help, asking her when she last had them on.

Wonder where Nancy and Frank are and what they would think if they knew of Luann’s actions. Yes, I’d be concerned if my friend was acting suspiciously, lying and going off in the middle of the night, while I was a guest in their house.

I think the Fuse is about to have a “Shrinkage” problem.

Luann is between twenty and nineteen years old with two years of community college. Luann has a car, has a part time job and still lives at home. Bradley Degroot moved out when he was twenty years ago.

Bernice take a chill pill.

I find it interesting that in this play on the Angel/Devil (or Good Cop/Bad Cop) trope, that Bernice’s brother is used for the devil-bad cop character, and Jack is the angel-good cop character.

Is the above because….

a) Bernice is still feeling umbrage at her brother for goading Bernice into interaction with Jack before she was ready?

b) Bernice is so utterly smitten with Jack that she only views him as perfection?

c) Bernice has come to appreciate the wisdom of her brother and so “he” is expressing her own worries?

d) Bernice sees Jack as a positive affirming person and so only ascribes to him the role of making things seem safe, non-threatening, and good?

I do THINK the most important aspect of today’s strip, however is….. this SHOWS that Bernice truly cares and is worried about Luann. Every time Bernice is shown, there are a bunch of folks who say that Bernice hates Luann and is not a true friend…. but… I have never felt that way. I think Bernice is a rather cautious and careful young lady to tries desperately hard to always do what she thinks is correct and appropriate and kind. She does get some things wrong… but I feel it is mostly from a mixture of youthful naivete and an ingrained behavior to work and try very, very hard…. and this sometimes leads her to try too hard to do what she perceives is best.

And we can see that despite being proven wrong about it being Jack, Bernice still obsesses about Luann’s behavior. With friends like her who needs enemies?

Bernice should do more physical activities, that usually helps with stress.

It’s starting to look like Bern is a relative of the late Gladys Kravitz.

Tara is so very hot with an IQ way up there.

cue the dark ambient music with discordant overtones

The Voices In Your Head have taken over, Bernie. Deal with it (and the agenbite of inwit)….

The Voices in Bern’s head can be so Rude.

Tara is going to set fire to the restaurant and the insurance company will be extra suspicious because of TJ’s previous experiances.

It’s strange how the BFF since third grade hasn’t asked her BFF any more about the mysterious overnight visit from Tara, or her BFF’s now-habitual zooming off to be with Tara. Or even if it IS Tara.Once upon a time these two gals talked about everything with each other. Looks like they’re no longer BFFs.

Getting a little tired of this story line.
