Next time try buying the hair gel at the super market, Frank.

Truth is, most items aren’t over packed these days. A lot of times, you wish there was more packing material, when you buy something fragile.

    .

So new arc tomorrow.. or do we just watch a Vanagon shaking back and forth in the parking lot, all week long?? ;) LOL

Ah yes, just like the case of potato chip bags that are only 1/3-1/2 full. On the flip side, there’s also those bottles of water that squirt when you open them because they’re filled to the rim.

Not the nicest wisecrack from Luann, whose New Year’s resolutions included “Be kind.” The grownup DeGroot kids were much nicer to their parents during the Christmas cabin fiasco.

I used to work in order fulfillment. There were times where we just plain ran out of the right size box, and the next size up was way too big. Stuff happens.

Frank still has plenty of hair on the sides and back. The tuft on top needs to be shaved off.

I’m sorry for Frank, but Luann has a point here. It’s nice to see that Luann still uses the technique of writing her notes by hand to memorize and understand better what she’s studying. I remember a strip where she was the only one in the classroom writing by hand while everyone else were using a laptop or recording the lesson. Or at least, studying is what I think she’s doing right now. Maybe she’s drawing.

    Hoo!

Sounds like Frank is a member of Amazon Prime.

They occasionally ship small items in big boxes.

Perhaps to better protect the product. Or more likely to expedite shipping as the shippers didn’t want to waste time finding the appropriate sized small box.

The other day I ordered a tiny electronic device and it came in a box 4 times it’s size.

But that’s cool. I can use that box for eBay sales.

Maybe Lu is snarking her dad because noise cancelling earbuds weren’t included in the box.

    For HER……, ;-)

Personally I thought the strip was funny. Luann was looking at her largely bald father holding the hair jell then finally caught on the he was whining about the size of the shipping box instead of the futility of his getting hair jell. The delivery was absolutely deadpan.

Luann could’ve been said something about how the bottle of hair gel was overprotected, without the implied snarkiness. And, don’t mention the van rocking to Rand’l Thor. He wants to believe that Betts and, Gunn are just going out cosplaying. Most of the rest of us seem to believe that “something” more will be happening in the van.

Which is why I stopped ordering from Amazon a good two years ago—everything was packed in enormously huge boxes, and if I wasn’t home, the Amazon delivery driver would drop my packages off at a gas station a mile away. Neither was acceptable.

Oh, snap! Good one, Luann! And right there with ya on the packaging, Frank! Amazon loves to put one tiny, non-breakable item in a huge box with oodles of non-recyclable air pockets. Breakable items are tossed in plastic shipping bags, of course, with no padding.

We have a recycle company in town called RIDWELL, which takes those stupid air pockets, along with other hard-to-recycle items. It’s on a subscription basis and they come to your house to pick up twice a month. So glad they finally added our area!
