I can’t imagine what hearings must be like, considering the way most politicians twist and spin answers to simple questions from reporters. The very thought makes my head hurt.
They don’t believe in any God so swearing on a bible means nothing. They ignore the truth anyway, ignore the subpoenas anyway, they lie cheat and steal. Might as well be a court of monkeys or just a bunch of cardboard cutouts. (Hope I am wrong)
For the most part I believe the ones who have shown up have been telling the truth. It’s the ones refusing to comply that are afraid they’ll be caught in a lie.
They should be careful about asking for “the whole truth”. Politicians are known for their ability talk for hours (or days) on any topic without actually saying much about anything.
I have wondered, what if Wonder Woman wrapped her “Lasso of Truth” around the “Great Orangutan in Chief”. Would his head explode, or would the lasso burst into flames?
Hillary told the truth and yet that wasn’t good enough for any of the Republicans.
It is interesting that when the Republicans lie the people who vote Republican are absolutely fine with that. They will even try to spin and justify rape and pedophilia, as long as the candidate looks like them. Even when it’s caught on verifiable video and bad for their own freedoms and personal economy, They are so entrenched in wanting to best the people they perceive as smarter than they are, that they are willing to actually be stupid. On purpose, no less, but as long as they can carry that illusion of besting smart people, they don’t care how much they harm themselves, as long as they can cause even greater harm to others.
In a nutshell, there are two perceptions that stand out:Those that think wealthy people who abuse their power through money are elitists, and those that believe smart people are elitists.
Trump disciples are falling all over themselves trying to discredit the likely original whistle blower, trying desperately to ignore all the first hand evidence. If the original report were from a Cocker Spaniel it would matter not a bit at this point.
That’s the “Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders” (DSM). In other words a possibly incomplete listing of all Bonespurs problems. Also, Washington added “so help me God’ on his own, not part of the oath, and for Bonespurs it meant nothing. While you don’t have to say “so help me God” on ANY time you swear the oath to the United States and Constitution, don’t think any POTUS will have the guts to leave it out any time soon. I also like that the Quran has been used several times now.
For once, I would like to read comments that do not denigrate the other party, which-ever one it is. If you have to slam “the other party” in order to make your point, you have no point.
I was listening to a local public hearing where a person was reading off editorial headlines to support her point, and then she demanded that people think for themselves.
The cartoon is obviously not directly political and applies to courts as well as congressional hearings. The long set of reactions who do not get the simple meaning and presumably want to change the subject.

No need in saying “so help you, God?”, since we already know were their souls are headed to once they start lying.

Have them swear on the Constitution. Most know the contents of that about as much as they know what is in the Bible.

I’ve always wondered what they would do if you said “No”. You can ask me questions but I will not take the oath.
I’m not talking about refusing to testify, just refusing the oath. They can’t cite you for contempt (I think) because you aren’t refusing to answer.
