Stephan Pastis and Charles Shultz both lived in Santa Rosa, CA (about 50 miles north of San Francisco) as did Raymond Burr, Natalie Wood, and Guy Fieri. Check out his restaurant, Johnny Garlic’s. Tom Smother’s winery, Remick Ridge Vineyards, is just outside of Santa Rosa. The home of famed botanist, Luther Burbank sits just off the middle of downtown and of course the yard is full of a huge variety of plants (open to the public). A few blocks away is The Church of One Tree (made from a single redwood tree) which Robert Ripley purchased and stocked with “Believe It or Not” artifacts, curios and oddities (call ahead for admittance.) Famed author, Jack London’s home is just down the road from Santa Rosa (open to the public.) I thought you’d want to stop on your way to your drive of the glorious Redwood Highway, a must-see bucket list item.
Rat’s walking left to right across the desk in the first two panels, is nowhere to be seen in the third, and in the fourth has returned to his starting point on the left edge of the desk. It’s disorienting.
