“Artificial intelligence poses great risk”. I’ve heard many people say something like that, but the way I see it, AI is just a tool, which can be used either for good or evil, much like the Internet. The Internet can be used for good things, like providing reliable information about important subjects, or it can be used for neutral purposes, such as comics sites, or it can be used for evil, like coordinating terrorist attacks. You just have to know how to tell the good from the bad. It took time for people to learn to avoid the bad parts of the Internet, and it will take time to learn how to tell good AI from bad, but AI itself is just a tool, and is neither good nor bad.

It makes everything Okay for people who live in ivory towers, but things are not Okay for homeless people fighting wars.

If the planet would just stop funding proxy wars for the ruling corporate elite’s profiteering and corruption, we could probably afford more cheese for the homeless, and more resources for developing 3rd World countries to help end the need for people to migrate to other countries.
