I love this callback with all my heart. Especially since having covered the first year recently on my blog, the “you don’t live here” and “let me in” are fresh in my mind
January 23rd is celebrated as Measure Your Feet Day. According to NationalToday.com, it may have originated in Ancient Iceland. What is known is that the cats of Ancient Egypt celebrated a similar day.
Queen Catshepsut the Golden: As you all know, today is January 23rd. I officially declare National Measure Your Paws Day festivities to commence.
Elvis-Anum: Great! I need a new pair of dress sandals, and some new socks would not come amiss.
Maat-Tilda: We have some lovely fabric, courtesy of Adobe Style and Arachna.
Puckmosis: Will they be visiting from Afar soon?
Tillie: Just as soon as Ari finishes making Nommy Nom Spider Treats. There was a locust plague scheduled for this week.
Iggy: This is all new to me. How do I go about measuring my paws?
Puckmosis: I can show you.
Ora Z: And after that, I’m going to Barbara’s shop for a mani pedi.
Lupinium: And then we can have the celebratory Thwump!
Beatrixia: This is my favorite holiday! I’m gonna celebrate by batting these three shiny jewels I found all over the floor!
The comics with Tommy and Elvis were all so sweet. Tommy never met a stranger and his compassion for Elvis was a valuable lesson that made Elvis a better cat.
Some things will never change. Might as well get used to it, Elvis. Tommy is an indoor-outdoor cat.
Off topic, the storm that hit has done a bit of damage here. Took out two good sized branches on the biggest tree on the property, both hit the back deck without doing any damage to it (can’t say the same for other things back there) and had to spend two hours cleaning that up. And then another two on top of that clearing the drive with the snowblower. If I’d been shoveling I’d probably just now be finishing up (almost 6:40 PM here as I’m typing). And they still have to plow again as there’s about three inches on the road since they last plowed. Not to mention the protable garage collapsed under the weight of the snow. Probably got 6 to 10 inches on top of the three or four from the last snowfall a few days ago. But the snow will at least act as insulation and help with heating.

Hello, Tommy
Puck and Elvis, Tommy
It’s so nice to have you here where you belong
You’re lookin’ swell, Tommy
We can tell, Tommy
You’re still growin’, floof’s still flowin’
You’re still goin’ strong
We’re so glad you’re stayin’
And we’ll soon be playin’
Some of our old wrestlin’ moves from way back when
We’ll have good naps, fella, fill up warm empty laps, fella
Tommy’ll never make us poof again

The Moody Blues: Lovely to See You
A wonderful day
The window’s in play
Stand at the sill
The smiles all tell you it’s:
Lovely to see you again, my friend!
Come along, join us, adventures won’t end!
…….
The wait’s over now,
The joy we avow,
The year of the Cat begins, and it’s
Lovely to see you again, my friend!
Come along, join us, adventures don’t end!
…….
Tell us what you’ve seen on your way to the Big Pink House,
Have you seen any mischief from a Robber Mouse?
…….
A wonderful day
The window’s in play
Stand at the sill
The smiles all tell you it’s:
Lovely to see you again, my friend!
Come along, join us, adventures won’t end!
