“I did NOT fall off the bed! Obviously, I jumped off the bed in a dignified (if awkward) manner, EXACTLY as I intended to do!”

“And, as mentioned before, I’M FINE!”

Elvis is fine. He meant to do that. And if he didn’t… it’s somehow your fault Lupin! LOL I think he should get snuggles from The Woman just to be sure though.

And Elvis landed on his feet. He most certainly did not land on his head, or his tail! Riiiight?!

My Gracie has, several times, rolled right off the edge of the bed. She pulls the same face Elvis just did. And heaven help you if you laugh.

Hey peeps. I know this is a little off topic, but my birthday has happened (not saying when for security reasons) and it was wonderful.

Was my very first thought when I read today’s strip. I hope I’m wrong.

I added this rather late yesterday so here it is again:

Those who are not Patreons of Georgia may want to join for a month (it’s only one dollar) to view the Ghost Story talk from September that I went to. She has asked that the URL NOT be posted. Please honor that. I believe that is me muttering “A Christmas Carol” at one point.

Oh wow, that happened here during the night. Katie fell off the bed. When I got up to check on her, she had left the room. However, when I woke up again this morning, she had returned. It seems she overcame her embarrassment and acted as if nothing had happened.

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the oPyramid Library

Beatrixia: I’m glad we have extra copies of the Voyage Scroll. These copies can go on the Lupinium proof shelves for anyone who wants to borrow them.

    Elvis-Anum: They’ve been tested, then?

Bea: Yes. Both Lupinium and Ora Z have climbed the shelves, and they meet all the safety standards.

Ora Z: And do the Voyage Scroll copies meet the shred standard?

Bea: They haven’t been tested. We’ll just have to trust that no one will try to shred them.

Iggy: There are plenty of copies. You can have some of the ones with misprints to shred.

Sophititi: I do need help with a papier maché sculpture. If you would like to shred some papyrus, I have plenty.

    Ora Z: Great!

    Soph: Right after lunch.

I fell out of bed a few months ago.

There was no news story at the time, just some startled ope-ing and a rather large contusion on my bum in the exact shape of the bedstep corner. I’m very lucky my head missed the nightstand.

Terrible thing when your beloved bed starts threatening and dumping you out unceremoniously. Slept on the non-belligerent couch the next night.

Then after pondering options like bed rails, which felt far too nursing facility even at my age, I remembered we had a length of unused 2” pipe insulation from the water heater project.

This was just the right size to tuck under the bottom sheet as a little bumper to remind me where the edge of the bed is.

I call it my safety noodle, and it is my new best friend… PDD shoots a side-eye at the ornery bed

Aw, Elvis. It could happen to anyone. I bet Lupin’s fallen off the bed tons of times. (…actually, Elvis should count himself lucky Lupin isn’t holding up scorecards.)

I suspect that, despite his straight face, Lupin is just using this headline to tweak Elvis yet again. It would fit.

Lol! Last week, my cat Cassity, was asleep in his usual position(Against my back) when I heard my mom’s glucose meter go off, at about 1am! I jumped out of bed to run and check her, only to find my sister was already there. She said it was ok, and the meter was malfunctioning. So, back to bed I go, and I see just the top of Cassity’s legs, flailing behind my bed! Before I could help, he snagged the edge of the bed and pulled himself up! The LOOK he gave me! I went straight to the cat treat jar and gave him a handful, to apologise!

My chihuahua-Italian greyhound mix, Bucky, has fallen off the bed a few times. He hasn’t been hurt, but he’s a senior, and rather fragile; so I now have two bed rails, neither of which is tall enough to be super effective; so I put a large piece of cardboard in between one and the bed. It sticks up, and is long enough, that it’s been effective. The small bed rail is at the foot of the bed, but he seems to have leaned to stay higher up.

Wow, what inept reporting today. Any good journalist worth his weight in catnip would not refer to the incident as Elvis falling from the bed. He would report it as…….

“Revengeful floor in an act of terror abruptly attacks local reporter as he made his way from his bed. The floor was last seen lying in position snickering at the shock and dismay caused to our intrepid reporter when the floor jumped up and hit him in the face. Film at eleven.”

Belle and several other cats stretch, and they proceed over the edge of the bed. Then you see claws come out to grab anything they can to arrest the fall.

My cousin had a rescue cat with hydrocephalus. The cat would sit on the railing above the first floor, fall to the first floor, get up, and go right back to do it again. Amazingly, he managed to make it to old age.

Twiggs has a capybara pillow that he dons before bed. The other evening he walked in a straight line right off the bed. There was a little “thud” when he got to the floor. Looked over the edge of the bed and he was walking in a straight line on the floor. He went under the bed and left the capybara pillow behind. He may weigh 4 pounds now. We go to the V E T for his next round of kitten shots tomorrow.
