Sounds like Saturday can’t come soon enough.

A day known as a school day.

Well Calvin, how’s your day going?…..

They build character though

Better than staying in bed: curled up by a cozy fire with hot chocolate and a good friend.

Notice I said “cozy” fire, as opposed to the ones we are having lately.

Notice that neither parent drives Calvin to school—he has to stand alone (in their view) in the cold and snow for the bus!

I love that look on Calvin’s face in panel three.

I hit the snooze button and listen to the Warroom Audio, starts at7am on the left coast

It’s not even time to get up and it’s one of those days already…

Of course, it’s a MONDAY!

Calvin, it doesn’t get any better when you grow up.

Wait till you have to work for your money. You’ll wonder why you didn’t have it this good.

I’m retired. I can do that every day if I choose. (It’s WONDERFUL!!)

Wait till you start working, Calvin!

You’ll have character-building, then, you will!!

You had to ask Hobbes? I am reading this comic drinking hot chocolate and eating a Cadbury Moro chocolate bar.

I guess they don’t cancel school in Ohio for a little snow.

But it’ll pass just like every other day does. Rejoice in that. It’ll change you day.

Well today is the Thirteenth.

Monday’s are always bad because its back to work day. But when it is bad luck Monday the Thirteenth, as they say, now that is a double whammy!

Every child in Cincinnati this morning after missing almost a week of school tagged on to the end of Christmas break because of Snowmeggadon. : )

I wonder what basic life responsibility Calvin is honked off about NOW?

Somebody’s got a case of the Mondays! I feel ya, kid. Sounds like the perfect plan!

Sorry, Calvin, but school is not in your bed!

Any day where you wake up and discover it’s snowing and you have to go outside anyway is one of thoze days.

After Hobbes triggers Calvin in 4th panel, he wishes Calvin a fun day in school. Oh yeah, he did mention to Calvin that he is going home to do all the things listed in panel 2.

Is it a bad day because it simply IS a bad day, or does it become one because we expect it to be?

Since Calvin KNOWS the day isn’t going to go well, it sounds like he may not have done one of the following:

Didn’t study for a test

Didn’t write a required paper

Didn’t do his math homework homework assignment

or…perhaps all three, so he’s going to hit the trifecta of miserableness. I don’t think even sneaking back under a blanket would help him from such an inevitable future.

Any bets on whether Calvin forgets to pick up his lunch box when the bus comes?!!

Things are tough all over, Calvin.

I’m quite a few decades older than Cal and I still appreciate his kind of morning. Of course, the comics of his time have changed too much to hold my interest, but a book is a good substitute.

The older one gets, days like this become more frequent, especially on night shifts.

As for getting a bus to school, l didn’t have that luxury. I walked.

How many kids today protest about climate change but still get lifts to and from school? At 9am and 3pm the roads are a ruddy nightmare.

It’s Monday, Calvin. I’m sure Garfield would sympathize with you.

best thing about retirement is the lack of a rigid schedule

I’m retired, the wife still works. I get up to see her off in the morning. I’ll be glad when she retires two years from now, then I can sleep in in the morning.

He sure can be negative when he wants to be. Yep, I’m positive that he’s negative.

Calvin rarely makes idle chatter.

Our school kids last week had days off from weather, only had one or two days then off.Back to school today.Wished we could have given CA our weather, yet we are needing more where we live at, just not the frozen kind.

In short… Monday.

Haven’t had hot chocolate for years…

Then there are the days when you’re an adult, when your Monday morning is spent shivering and coughing and sneezing in bed because you caught the bug that was going around the office.

A few weeks ago, I was getting dressed to gotto work and did not want to even go to work. I prayed to have the strength to go to work and with my day, and I was able to do so. That is the grown up version of Calvin’s lament.

Hobbes should have said, “What a good idea! I’ll be spending the day doing that just as soon as I see you off to school.”

I believe felines do not understand sarcasm.

Yeah, he’s not wrong.

Nah, I’m in my cozy little echo chamber instead! Ha, fooled ya ! ;-)
