What I see on Luann’s face is a look of panic. What the posters on ArcaMax see is the greedy look of a possessive woman.

What I hope to see in the future is the end of all Quill arcs, and the beginning of Luann actually trying to figure out what she wants out of life besides a boyfriend…

New poll up: Do you want Pru to hook up with Quill?

How successful is the opening going to be?1) 44 votes – Perfect on the surface; a couple small glitchs, but Mr. Gray handles them all behind the scenes2) 12 votes – Other3) 7 votes – Perfect disaster; the main act bombs and the reviews are devastating4) 5 votes – Perfect, no problems5) 3 votes – Could have been better; guests all get salmonella from the party trays6) 2 votes – Perfect crime; electrical fire burns the place to the ground, no cluesOther: About as successful as the graduation party; Perfect because anyone who says it isn’t will be made an offer by Mr Grey he/she can’t refuse; Not any less successful than Titanic; Of course it’s perfect. This strip has become BORING!; Karen Evans demands it be a success; Only Luann’s friends show up, but Frank will still get rich. This is “Luann”; Very successful. Thus, giving Pru bonus points with Quill, adding to the drama; All goes fine until some guest creates a scene :o; Would have been better if guests understood the play and TJ made better food; Perfect — Tiffany anf Gunther are caught au naturel between scenes; We will never know because Greg will skip to another arc leaving us hanging; Perfect, because otherwise it might be interesting, and we can’t have that.

FINALLY! I admire Luann for keeping it together and being strong and mature as much as she can, but I also admire her mom for paying attention to the situation as much as she has. I’m glad Luann feels she can open up now.

The big “surprise ending” of this way-too-drawn-out story, of course, will be when Luann finally confronts Pru, who then laughs, pulls off her wig, and says, “Relax, Luann, I’m a guy!!!”-Then the real start of the new phase of Luann’s life will be when Quill says “Nobody’s perfect!” and runs off to NYC with Pru.

Luann, Luann. You’ve got a lot of growing up to do. You blew it, didn’t say a word. All this time, us guys were waiting and expecting you go off on Quill, just like the women in our lives have always done. But you didn’t. Quill is being led around by his nose by that bimbo, completely oblivious to what you are feeling. after all, he is just a dumb ‘guy’.

@Three Steps Over Japan:“Of course it’s perfect. This strip has become BORING!”That generally happens when the writer of a comic strip or story starts pandering to the whims of the fan base instead of his or her own creative vision. It’s also a total abandonment of all creative integrity. Look at the bringing back of Quill, for instance, even though Evans had wanted him out – only because the fan club said so.Disclosure: I wasn’t the one who made that comment on the vote. My own comment was “Perfect, because otherwise it might be interesting, and we can’t have that.”

Been reading Luann since I was a kid. If the cast had aged in real-time, Luann & co would be 9 years older than I am. Lurked here for awhile but was compelled to make an account.

I’m concerned about the weird misogyny in these comments. Pru hasn’t actually done anything except write an apparently compelling holiday show and allow its use to people she barely knew because a friend asked her to. She isn’t the one who called after hours. Quill did that. She isn’t the one who interrupted her girlfriend’s great news to read a text that could have waited. Quill did that. She seemed content to chat with Luann and Berniece until Quill called her to help him with the lights. And now, in cleaning up the Fuse, Quill didn’t object to Luann’s leaving and probably suggested to Pru the cleanup plan, or at least rubber-stamped it.

Pru is being a friend. Quill is being a very inconsiderate boyfriend. And Luann is being shrill. Suppose she strongarm’s Quill into jettisoning Pru. Then what happens when the next actress who is bonafide hot and smart and driven comes along? Is he going to cut short a friendship there, too, because of his insecure girlfriend?

I want Nancy to find her youknowwhats. I was so disappointed when she caved into Toni. She is aware that her son is thinking only with his knob when it comes to that girl, and that engagement stunt was the worst, yet Nancy caved. I think Nancy is happy that Luann, whose adolescence was super-awkward, has a “hot” boyfriend, but I think Nancy also knows the Quill thing is a nonstarter. She needs to sit Luann down and tell her to stop losing her cool over this.

I find it hard to be believe Nancy doesn’t get it. Teenage girls are pretty easy to read. Now it would be interesting for Nancy to drive Luann back to the Fuse to help clean up….and let’s hope Luann doesn’t catch those two making out….or worse.

2Sadly, nothing much of interest today. Luann needs to realize that if her Quilly strays, then it is better for her to find this out now. Please stray, Quill…. so you can be written out of the comic and Luann can a) find her own path and journey, and b) potentially find someone who is a really good match for Luann. Pru… we are counting on you to take Quill back to New York. Please do not let us down!!!!!

I like to wait before I comment, if I can keep a visceral response from welling out of the bottom of my soul (lol), and in this particular instance I am glad I did. Man I see some really wild and out there musings about Luann, being sorrowful, weak, pathetic, etc., Pru being gay, or a man, and Quill being interested in her/him, the arc being BORING, and this strip has just declined so much, jeez. First, it makes all kinds of sense for a young woman, who always has a romantic life that is part of basic nature to be worried and jealous about her bf. Whatever happens she does not have all the information necessary, and at some point Evans will provide an ending which will include enough information for her and Quill to go one way or the other. Second, Pru is a “theater” person and knowing a few in my life they are often very prepossessing, and rather easy-going sexually, but not necessarily interested in stealing someone else’s love. They see the world as a stage, and everyone as characters, while Luann sees the world from a very personal place. I agree that the strip shows her inherently having a very good relationship with her loving, patient parents. Having grown children I realize you “parent” even when they are on their own. Finally, the strip is not boring. It’s doing what it has always done, it’s just that the characters have gotten older and in a different stage of life. Lets wait and see before we jump to conclusions, although let me give credit to trolls where credit is due: it’s fun to imagine all kinds of crazy scenario’s. Who knows I could be all wet. -:)

2015 has been confusing. Who, what, and why is Mr. Gray? Who, what, and why is Pru. Why can’t Gunther and Tiffany just have a little “thing” together for a while? They both need someone. What happened to Knute & Crystal? Very little said about Brad and Toni (although I really don’t care for them, anyway). What about Rosa? What is Dez doing in college? And, finally, what’s the deal with Quill and Luann? We went to the edge with them making out in the props room, but no damage done. Bernice is showing a little spark. Final grade: B minus. Art work, however gets an A plus. Let’s hope 2016 gets a little more cohesive. Cheers, and may the Christmas spirit warm everyone’s hearts.

The interesting thing (to me) about today’s strip is that Luann refuses to say anything negative about Pru, even though Nancy keeps prompting her. Nancy has clearly seen right through Pru (as did Bern ..)..But Luann stayed under her (Pru’s) “spell” of superficial niceness… It is Quill that Luann doesn’t trust, which gets back to that Freudian slip that she made to Bern. What makes Nancy such a good mother is that she is staying out of it ….(Luann and Quill have to solve this one on their own….) but at the same time being perceptive and understanding… all those eye popping moments (on Nancy’s part) especially the one where Quill revealed that he (too) was under Pru’s spell (i.e. when he said that it was “hard not to love her”.

It’s like letting one fan write the strip, a fan that loves all the characters and tries to ship with them everyone, while simultaneously removing any real drama from their lives, because hardship and character growth are too stressful.-—————————————-This may be too severe a comment..There has been hardship:Aaron moved away. Brad lost his job. Elwood and Tiff’s movie flopped. TJ burned the house down. Toni got saddled with Sharron. .There has been character development:.Delta changed from being wild, Brad charged from being a sloth. Dirk changed from being perpetually angry. .One character went down hill — Rosa.

seismic-2 GoComics PRO Member said, 9 minutes ago@LDover> Toni got saddled with Shannon.>Shannon doesn’t live with Toni. Toni babysits Shannon, and we don’t know how often or seldom. However, it is telling that you describe toni’s and Shannon’s relationship as her being “saddled” with the child. We have in fact seen evidence that Toni and Brad often feel that way when they have to babysit. This shows why people are wrong to hope that they adopt Shannon. . . . . . -————————————————————————The issue was the claim that the strip ignores hardships. .I don’t think it does. .That Jonah had a illegit. child was sad, that the mother deserted the child was sadder. .This reflects hardship. .That Toni has to help fill the void is at times a hardship for her.

That Sharoon feels neglected at times is a sad reflection of all this. .All this is a reflection of hardship.
