Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
You can bet people will call him a creep for looking through the window. Itâs not the Crusades, itâs normal for him to look, and he treated all guests with respect at sign-in. I find it more odd that these guests are so plain-looking as opposed to fashion-forward and not dressed for the occasion.
Greg, youâve become too predictable. Many of us in here guessed a lingerie party. Nothing nefarious, scandalous or illegal. Of an Ann caliber. Lingerie Party is too lame for Ann. Give us something else.
Hey Les! Donât look Now, but that âLadyâ (Rhonda Nabors?) is giving You the EYE, in Panel One! Quick! Show âHerâ that âCherry Stemâ trick, then give âHerâ your Number!
And Donât forget to ask Her if Sheâs any relation to Jim Nabors. Not that YOU would know who the heck Jim Nabors IsâŠâŠ,
I donât mind that thereâs shady stuff going onâŠitâs Annâs wayâŠwhat I DO mind that itâs going to hurt the DeGroots! she already played Pru like a strativarius. (sp..because Pru is no common violin) âŠ.
Maybe Ann is really going to actually pass around lingerie catalogs, take orders, collect cash, checks, and credit card numbers ⊠and then leave town and never deliver on the orders.
However, I guess that wouldnât explain why she refused to allow Pru to attend, since she would be just as willing to rip off Pru as anyone else.
Going out on a limb, here. Yesterday, Ringo made at least two comments involving Hillary Clinton, both of which I thought were inappropriate, at least in this comic strip. Editorial cartoons, like Prickly City, fair game. But here, where some of us come to get away from politics for three panels a day, I didnât think it was appropriate.
Agree with the general sentiments. The ladies attending clearly seem to be normal people thinking they are attending a lingerie party. So, Eiffelâs rental arc is either really boring or really huge when she mass murders all of them or something. :)
Here comes Nurse Rached. Cheapskate0 â Thereâsa daily comic for you called âBaby Blues.â Guaranteed never to offend. I personally enjoy the wide range of responses to the âLuannâ comic. The participants seem as diverse as the Luann characters.
Canât imagine any business turning over their building to a private party, with no owners or staff on hand to supervise. High liability. The DeGroots might be learning a very expensive lesson.
(iâm afraid to say it): Les wonât get to see inside and maybe we wonât either. What a mean trick if Greg jumps to a new arc. Oh well, maybe weâll see Tara. I miss her already.
What party? Plus she is keeping it secret from prying eyes, yet the women look so normal. I will say one thing, Ann might be awful, but she is drawn really cute. Check out the last panel. Suspend belief, we will see.
Itâs just popped into my head that perhaps this isnât a âfashion showâ-itâs a party that Ms. Eiffel threw to get the ladies investing in a new scheme of hers.
Prom dress sales and Nabors is Hairâs last name. Rhonda visits Moony and shows off her pictured dress and material sample. Tiffany comments on the impossible fashion design and Gunther says for that price, it is impossible to use that fabric.
We have arc merging and a long term outlook if we are talking Spring Prom and this is still the first week of classes.
I feel sure it is a party with sex toys, not just lingerie. Hopefully is just that, but is possible the ladies might be trying those toys on each other
Iâll bet that she will try to get them all to sign up for a multi level marketing scheme of selling lingerie. Each person there will give Ann $5,000 in order to get a business kit from her, in order to start their own âbusinessâ, but it is all just a scam.
Some keep saying these are minors. But I think the three women we see could range from late teens into their 30s. Not everyone looks or ages the same at all.
Maybe lingerie parties are a legitimate way to earn lots of money. I missed that because I didnât know anything about the subject and I was suspicious of Ann (for some reason). But Ann seems to treat others horribly rather than commit felony theft.
WizardGoat, who said heâll be watching to see if I display my political views here, and others who may care: Donât worry. I keep my political views to the political cartoons. My posts to Prickly City should make my political views known. But I, personally, promise that those views will not appear here. Again, itâs just not appropriate.
And now weâll find out whatâs really going on. If this wasnât a family-friendly strip, Iâd guess drugs or guns. Since it is family-friendly, it will have to be some lighter kind of contraband. Maybe counterfeit handbags?
Utterly unsure of what will transpire. That is sort of exciting but also disconcerting as well. The lack of clarity at the moment creates a definite tension for the readers!!!
What I hope for:
1. Ann somehow in the end gets her comeuppance for what (I still presume is) her nefarious activity is.
2. Somehow Les grows and becomes a nicer, better person through this.
3. Pru does NOT get into serious trouble for her connections with booking this event (especially, I still think, in terms of unilaterally deciding on all the various perks and discounts she gave).
4. Whatever nefarious activity occursâŠ.. I hope none of the other regulars becomes embroiled in it, except potentially Al Gray⊠it would be interesting to have him involvedâŠ. and it would be interesting to see if Greg has him become more âgoodâ or move to the more âsinisterâ sideâŠ. as we have had speculation over the years of both possibilities.
One easy way this could be a scheme: Ann gives the impression that this is sponsored by the venue, who will be getting the money and ordering the merchandise. Collects money up front, and leaves them holding the bag.
Poor Leslie doesnât get to peep through the door window, âcause Little Annie Momster is taping a blocking sheet of paper or cardboard over it. He and possibly we will never know first-hand what is going on with all those young ladies inside (half-a-dozen Shadow People plus three fully-drawn figures ending with Rhonda Nabors [search engine inconclusive whether this is a real person know by Greg or Karen] in panel 1).
But wait! Maybe Leslie wonât abide by that treatmentâŠ.
Some men here have a crush on Tara, some on Tiffany, some on Toni. Personally, I am torn between Dez and Ma Berger. The latter mainly because she would make me waffles with maple syrup every morning. mmmmmmm!
Reminds me of a Cheers episode where a group of librarians had a meeting in the party room in the back of the bar. The gang all thought â well, this should be innocent enough. It was â until the ladies started ordering rounds of drinks. One ladyâs beverage of preference was Boilermakers (âJackâ and âBudâ).
Next thing you know â I think Frasier first, then Sam, are pulled back there as the drinks flow â they start dancing as âentertainmentâ for the gals! They even made some decent cash on the side. :)
Lingerie party, Tupperware party, Amway party, whatâs the difference? Lingerie is a little more loaded subject in our sometimes repressed society. Iâd be surprised and happy if she was doing a legitimate gig! âŠ. Like the moment in the horror movie where the guy pulls his hand out of the garbage disposal â unscathed! Psyche! Made ya blink!
Ok. The front of the Fuse has a door with two Windows on each side that one can see out off. Those and the front door have been curtailed/blocked. The low see out of rear windows and rear door have been curtailed/blocked.
There is a wall with four large windows too high to see out of, but standing on a garbage can, Les could hold up his smartphone.
Facing the front of the Fuse, on the left side we have a wall with low windows and second story Windows. Have the high Windows been curtailed off?
So this is a legitimate lingerie party. Whoâd have thought? Still doesnât explain why Ann didnât want Pru around, unless she knows that Pru is gay. I still canât help but think something nefarious is going on.
Mr. Grey will check the security tapes. (Only he would be smart enough to foresee the need for this surveillance system.) Then weâll have resolution.

The three last to enter ladies look to be as young or younger than Les. I wonder if he noticed the total lack of wedding rings on the guestâs hands.
This is a young crowd.
Perhaps young, inexperienced, and ripe for being ripped off.

Lingerie sales. Some.
But what is the most expensive item a senior high school girl will be buying. And also not be wearing the next day?
Ann is going to be taking orders for prom dresses that may never be delivered.
All of tonightâs activity will appear to be legitimate.
