Megan leaned into the fence, and while Baywolf had his chin on the ground listening to her, booped him squarely on the nose. This was not something he big Husky was familiar with, but he kind of liked it. “Everybody remember where I said to meet later?” Two sharp nods and a soft “woof” were the responses. “To your positions, then…”
A couple of trucks and a few cars arrived a short time later. All innocence- just another day at the office. Tre-C and Max took their positions, undetected by the dogs on the premises. Baywolf trotted back to his bed on the shop floor but had a few things to say to the other dogs belonging to the shop owner. He spoke to them in basic dog, just barking his requests, not even knowing if they would respond as Megan wanted. But he knew HE would. Tre-C climbed a tree and made her way to the roof of the building, then inside into the rafters just above the garage bay doors. Her perch allowed her a perfect view of the yard where Megan felt the fighting would be done. Max came in through a back door that hadn’t been pushed shut tightly, and quickly made his way to the unlocked office and up to the open winow. On the roof of the building, Megan checked her cell signal…
Can’t get enough of Burt. Love his coloration, his casual look, and his knowledge base! He’s a smart kitty cat! Living on the farm gives him a whole different skill set!
Good morning, orbsters and orbabies! I’m trying to figure out what Lupin is so delighted about. Elvis’ outrage is understandable. Puck seems to be in shock.
I am all set to help Paul celebrate his birthday when he gets up. Duck breasts are defrosting, gift is ready, I have to read the instructions for cooking the cinnamon buns, and then make the orange sauce.
Since Elvis came from a cattery, his mother probably did not even know how to hunt (let alone know how to teach him to hunt things like mice, which she probably only saw in toy form). Puck’s early injury may have caused him to miss that lesson, and Lupin was also ill as a kitten, and then lost his hearing and might not have been able to read whiskers well enough to pick up on the fine points (especially the part about listening for mouse noises). Burt, raised with generations of Barncat lore, should have excellent “mousie radar”.
This reminds me of a conversation I had with my husband right after we moved into our old house and got our first two cats together (Evinrude and Pussnboots). “Ugh, the cats found another mouse in the basement pantry.” “Did they kill it?” “No, they left it as a present for the dog. At least I assume that’s what it was, they left it in his water bowl. I took it outside.” “Why are you so mad? It’s what cats do!” “I’m not mad at the cats, I’m mad at the mice! I had a long talk with them yesterday, and I told them they could stay the winter if they avoided the cats and didn’t gnaw on my pantry-goods. How hard can that be?!?”

Love the difference of expression between Elvis and Lupin. Elvis is angy these mice have infiltrated his home without his knowledge. Lupin is very excited!
Okay HOW are you guys snapping up the BCN art so fast? At my computer at 8:45. Signed into Etsy. Hit refresh for 15 minutes. Saw the art go up, put one in my cart, clicked Buy it now, chose PayPal (thought it would be quicker), oops—already sold! Tried the other two, already gone. How how how? All I can think is that someone from the future is using a time machine to go back to 2018 and grab the art before anyone else can. It’s the only sensible explanation.
. . . BREAKING CAT NEWS! Are you ready for Christmas? How about something special for yourself? “Wear a little ‘Puck’ in your life!” You certainly deserve it! lol! :) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrDn1ncFmiL/

I think Lupin is happy because he no longer is suspect in the missing earing!

On the other paw, Elvis is outraged – OUTRAGED – by all this. Just look at him. Outrage, right there.

Don’t worry, Puck, you won’t remain speechless when you get Buzzy back. Plus you’ll have someone to share your candy cane with.

Come and listen to my story of the Robber Mice
A gang of ladies who would steal and not think twice
And then one they were in the Big Pink House
And what should they find but a cute mechanic mouse
(Spoken)Buzzy, that is
Puck’s friend
In a sock
Well the first thing you know, the mice are out of there,
Alice said to Agnes,
Write a ransom note right there
She said to Natasha,
This is how we’ll get our cheese
And Violet got the paper and now writing is a breeze.
(Spoken) But they figured with out Elvis, Lupin too.
