I call this the “I’m ignoring you, nyaaaaa” pose. Any second now he’ll check over his shoulder to see if they’ve noticed how much he’s ignoring them.

Millicent, supreme authority over my family many, many years ago, would sometimes sit in the kitchen doorway with her back to us, and sulk so powerfully that she made the room go dark around her.

Woman, to the rescue!

I am so angry, that if you don’t notice that I am ignoring you, I will scratch you silly…so help me cat I will!!

Let me tell you about my cat McKayla. I found her under my father’s car in 2000, on a cold, rainy November night. She was a little Tabby Kitten with a huge purr motor. I took her home to our house and on the way, she curled up on my shoulder and purrred. She was my cat ever since.

She loved the rest of the family but she would sit on my lap in the evenings and purr. She did not take any sass from dogs. She stood up to cats much bigger than her, even though she was a very tiny. " And though she be but little, she is fierce" .

She was losing weight since last fall. She had grown very tired all the time. Yesterday, while purring on my hand, McKayla passed away in the vet’s office.

I have a hole in my heart. Her spot on next to me on the chair is empty. I will never forget my cat Mckayla.

I wanted you all to know her.

SEE! See me ignoring you?? Probably sitting right in the path of traffic so you’ll have to step around me and notice me ignoring you. So there!

Aawww, Elvis. Everycat deserves a good sulk every now and then. Have at it, buddy.

My mother was a hairdresser and worked at home. The hair dryer was in our spare bedroom which was where our crotchety old cat slept on a hideaway bed. When clients would be under the drier Blackie Cat would assume this position exactly just to make sure they knew how unwelcome they were.

So sorry, rs. You were both blessed to have found each other and share such wonderful years together. She will always be by your side and a presence in your life.

Our Sage used to turn into a rock when mad (15 lbs into 300 lbs.) with a look that that said “eat Rosie crunchies and die!” all while sweetly purring. Rosie crunchies are what is deposited in the “BOX” – one of our dogs favourite treats.

McKayla sounds like the perfect friend and companion. Thank you for sharing her with us, and I’m very sorry for your loss.

Oh, Elvis, whenever I have tried “aggressively not caring” I have found that those around me were not caring for reals.

May you find great comfort in the knowledge that you provided her a loving home for all her remaining years.

Bless you and your angel kitty, it sounds like you had many good years together and you gave her a wonderful life. It still hurts so much to say goodbye.

Kinda wishing we had a snarky chyron from Burt through this . . . I’ll bet he has a lot to say about this situation!

My experience with Siamese is that the one neighborhood you don’t want to be in is the one with a Siamese with flat ears!

I love that you you and McKayla had each other for 19 years. While every cat is amazing, sometimes we are blessed with those that are extra amazing. My heart is heavy for your loss but happy for your time together.
