Anyone say, “At least it’s better than smoking!”? That’s like cutting off a finger and saying, “Well, I could’ve cut off my whole hand! This is better!!!”

I don’t see much difference. Toxic chemicals suspended in a cloud of smoke vs toxic chemicals suspended in a cloud of vapor. Laws regulating smoking should apply to vaping as well.

The thing is that vaping… in moderation (which is apparently very unlikely) may or may not be safer for you or better for all of us than smoking cigarettes. What’s certainly true is that we just don’t know!

2 people abuse something, screwing it up for all of the responsible people. What else is new? Why not make motorcycles totally illegal? That would save millions.

My young niece quickly got addicted to nicotine by vaping. She is the only vaper or smoker on both sides of our family tree.

Everything is always abused to the enth degree….

It doesn’t need to be any more complicated than Mr. Wiley’s simple cartoon. Sucking anything but air into your lungs is a bad idea, period.

Thanks for the comments. Never thought about the tobacco industry going after vaping. I’m not really keeping up with this since I’ve never smoke. . .

This marks 20 years that I’ve been tobacco-free. Kinda funny that I can be around smokers and not let it bother me. I figure cigarette smoke didn’t bother me for 28 years, it shouldn’t start now.

I have, however, smoked marijuana for 48 years. "Nuff said…

I really don’t understand why anyone would want to inhale vaporized chemicals, of any kind. Especially chemicals that, in their liquid state, are oily and/or sticky.

Honest question here, not a joke.

Does anyone know how much of these chemicals can be inhaled before lung surfaces (alveoli?) are too heavily coated to function? Can vapers literally drown?

Let’s ban vaping because a few people using illegally obtained fluids died. And since the fluids contained TCH, cannabis as well. And, I understand, the fluids also contained hydrogen hydroxide, even worse. PS Vaping is disgusting.

We have relatives who vape. (myself, I prefer a good cigar) They have for years…no issues.I’m thinking, once they actually do some research and get some facts…it’s probably the “flavors” that are causing the problems.

I do find it amusing that all these stores are taking vape products off the shelves, but continue to sell alcohol and tobacco, products that have caused WAY more deaths.

Smokers and Vapers both have oral fixations that need to be satisfied. They’re not happy unless they are sticking something in their mouths.

I always viewed vaping as a risky idea. We will never know what they put in the oil. Now it appears that those nasty chemicals are what is causing all the injuries.

I read just this morning it was doing lots of damage to people’s lungs. They’re just as bad, if not worse, than regular cigarettes. :(

I once saw a sign in an office: YOU MAY SMOKE IF YOU DON’T EXHALE.

For a more pressing demographic concern: a teen drawn through a “Sugarplum Flavor Ecstasy” door – dropping off into a sewer.

Vaping is getting out of hand in schools, I’ve heard. Recently one teenager was quoted as saying, “What’s a toilet doing in the vape room?”

Vaping is just another nicotine delivery/addiction device. That some use other substances only confuses the issues

Thing is, even before all the warnings we knew smoking was bad for us. Now we know that vaping couldn’t be good for us either, but… Common sense should be called uncommon sense.

Vaping = stupid death. For the sake of your future self — stop! Watching my mother die from nicotine addiction is not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

Vaping nicotine still assaults my allergies. It reeks as badly as smoking too. At least THC does something though smoking that still puts carbon monoxide in your lungs which is idiotic.
