Kip Lee has some kind of muscle lip twitch on his face that makes his mouth go up on his right side. In real life, if you see that the possible causes for lip twitching include ingesting too much caffeine, a potassium deficiency, or reactions to certain drugs. I wonder which way Evans is going to go with this.

I know! I know! Stefani is Kip’s girlfriend! She told him her room number but hasn’t arrived yet. He beat her to her room! Ohhhh, poor Stefani. We know Tiff’s weakness for football players, especially the quarterbacks! She’s gonna steal Kip from her roommate!

Somehow, “make a pass” coming after “get nailed” seems…anticlimactic, and pun certainly intended.

It seems Tiffany does remember a thing or two about football from her Pitts cheerleader days.

I wonder if that Tiff-as-cheerleader photo is still up?

Now the question is, “WHY” is Kip here?

To see Stefani, or to get Tiffany in trouble?

I’m leaning toward the latter, as he asked if Tiff was the “Tiff as nails girl.” Could it be that he has a request for Tiffany to start up her nail salon gig again, not knowing (or caring) that it has been shut down due to being a violation of campus rules?

Will Tiffany get talked into starting her nail painting business up again just to impress Kip, and thereby risking expulsion?

1) I thought Hair said that Kip would “Love go meet the new Suite Babe?” It’s early yet, but IMO, Kip doesn’t seem at all impressed with Tiffany’s flirting. He’s starting to remind Me of Jack in that department.

2) I wonder if Kip (And Hair and Viper) are part of that “bad crowd” that Tara claimed she ran with before she got kicked out of Mooney U? There’s a real good chance that “crowd” May have resided in Hall “A.”

If so, Tiffany had better watch her back……,

A facial tic could be nothing more than a normal reaction of surprise to an inappropriate, not to mention crude, come on. Obviously all the money Tiffany’s dad spent on her didn’t include etiquette lessons.

Tiff as Nails took me awhile to figure out the wordplay, as Tiff sounds nothing like Tough. But “get nailed”? How shocking! What is this, a late nite Cinemax movie?? Snerk!

Ok, people called it: It’s Kip Lee. So Tiff never went to the “Slurp n Flirt Nite” in his room that she bought the clothes for (https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2019/12/14)? I do wish the Evanses would pay more attention to continuity.

And yet again, another day where the story could have moved forward but we’re spinning our wheels. Yesterday & today could have been rolled into one strip. Was this all to show how quickly Tiff could revert to her old man eater ways from high school? Waiting patiently to find out who her roomie is and why Kip showed up asking about the nail biz.

The double entendres started yesterday and continue today. Tiff is a master at them.

I have no idea what will happen in this story, but I have the strong impression that I will like everything. Maybe it will mark the definitive transition between the old egocentric Tiffany and the new emphatic one. Maybe it will be the confirmation that Tiffany cannot change or grow. Can’t wait!

Alliterations, double entendres and clever turns of phrases are all things I enjoy as a person who writes. A person who writes yet every time I tried to type write it came out right, wright, rite and writ….heh

Entertaining…..

But…. no real clues yet to where this is heading. Is Kip going to be Stefani’s boyfriend? Is Kip there specifically for Tiffany for some reason, since he knows of her previous nail business?

I did not really notice it yesterday, but today I did find it interesting and entertaining to see the “Moony University” letterman letters on Kip’s jacket. Greg had a creative approach to making the “Letters” for the jacket. I actually like the design Greg used.

As a small, joking aside, however…. the MU letter patch on the jacket does have a bit of a look of an open mouth. There are an array of symbolic meanings that could be attributed to that design.

Kip: “No. But I’ll ‘run interference’ while I wait for my girlfriend Stefani to get here!!” :)

Lets get moving this is getting really boring. Lets get back to comics that are funny.

Two things accomplished here: for those who are dying to get Tiffany, their idea of a bubble-headed cheerleader type (which I think is sexist, and unfair to cheerleaders, who are often very focused students who enjoy the fun and engagement that cheerleading permits) to meet a quarterback who is decidedly NOT a Tom Brady clone type *actually Asian gasp!!) who is not interested in Tiffany’s double-meaning passes; secondly, we still have not met her new roommate, but I bet he knows Stephani, which is why he happens on the scene at this point, is my guess. Ah, another new story/plot line!

This sleaze porn dialogue should interest the “Bachelor” crowd.

Apparently Stephan Pastis’ pun/double-entendre affliction is contagious. I’ve never know Tiffany to be so overtly sexual, either. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that…”

See, herein lies this strip’s problem: Evans insists that nobody will ever be portrayed as sexually active because of Family Values or whatever, but then he has Tiffany here showing all the subtlety of a cat in heat. If you want to keep sex out of the strip, keep sex out of it. There’s still plenty of stories to tell. But when you have characters constantly obsessing over something but never actually doing it, it comes off as trying to have it both ways, which is worse than just picking a path and sticking to it. As the Bible says (Revelation 3:16): “ So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”

Back in my college days, I remember a pair of roomies who got their girlfriends to do likewise, then they swapped roommates. Did not end well.

He’ll be Stefani’s boyfriend. Stefani will be a mirror image personality to Tiffany and they’ll butt heads. Tiff will remain oblivious to the irony of being irritated at behavior she herself is guilty of putting her friends through.

Greg’s case of the crooked smile: Possible cause is Kip just came from the dentist and his mouth is still frozen. Also possible: facial nerve atrophy resulting from unfriendly contact with someone’s helmet. Probable cause: Greg’s inability to draw what he wants to convey i.e. An Elvis or Ricky Nelson sneer.

There seems to be a bit of a theme over the last month or two. Wonder who’s about to have an unplanned pregnancy.

Moving in for the kill pretty quick there girl! Slow up a bit. Ya might save yourself some…“issues”. This seems like a set up for a 3’s Company kind of misunderstanding and hurt feelings, which means the QB is most likely Stef’s sweetie.

I’m not Asian so there are others who have a better right to assess this but it looks to me that Greg has really improved his drawing of Asian characters since his first attempt with Sun when she made her single appearance in Bernice’s dorm room back in the day. I think he listened to the criticism and really worked on his artistry in this regard.

Tiff was prepared to have close sister-like relationship w/ Stefani. Instead there may be friction between the two over Kip who is likely there to see Stefani (his girlfriend).
