I posted this from Georgia yesterday but it was so late I’m posting it again, "We go now live to BREAKING CAT NEWS! It was hard to decide which real life practical blizzard prep tips to include. I even asked friends and family back home in New England to list out their prep, in case I was forgetting anything! These are some solidly good ones.In real life, we also kept a regular “winter pantry” of canned goods on hand like beans, diced tomatoes, corn etc to make chili and other such things on a wood stove/by fire if the power went out. (Soup and Dinty Moore, too! ) I still keep a winter pantry, but now it’s filed under “earthquake prep,” lol! You can take the girl out of New England…
What are some of your storm/disaster prep items and/or steps?
I know next week’s strips are made so all the hope in the world won’t change a thing, but I do home the blizzard actually DOES come and justify all their preparation. I can’t think of all the times I prepared for nasty weather (including canceling plans) just to have it not happen and me wondering if I was too cautious.
I wonder if we will get to see the groundhog tomorrow. We got to see him last year, but this year with it being a Sunday Georgia has more space to work with and we have all the new wild animals that could be included so she could do a lot more with it.
I hate to upset Elvis, but my golden retriever was an otter in the ocean water. Sleek with perfection of playful movement through the waves. Supposedly, dogs can’t body surf, but Molly sure as heck did. I have always regretted that the dolphins never got close enough to her to share the fun.
When I got out of bed this morning, it was snowing heavily and the forecast high was +4C. Last week, we had highs around -30C with wind chill factors of -45. Not blizzard weather but still weather to stock up on comfort and stay inside by the fireplace.

And here it comes…
That last panel is gorgeous. What an effect! Love the blues and the contrast of the perfect white snow.

The “mighty otter” sleep pose is going to get that tummy snorgled, Elvis. It will be a most undignified fate. But a highly adorable one.

Lupin is in danger at the window. If he looks into the face of the blizzard, he’s doomed.

As I’ve never ever actually seen it snow in person, I’m sure it would be an otterworldly experience for me.

The ability to sleep swift and sleek sounds like a good skill to possess. (I never thought of otters being like Ninja before…)

I love how Puck has his tail around Buzzy Mouse like a warm blanket… and that Goldie is settled and safe inside, part of the BCN family now.

Sleep, Elvis, sleep like the otter!
When Albert A. Cat is in that position, it’s because he wants his belly rubbed. We call it an “Adorableness Emergency”.

How Otterly adorable
As Elvis seeks revenge,
We’re all abuzz with Pucky,
With his favorite rodent friend,
Goldie’s in her jammies,
What’s a blizzard? We don’t know,
But we all agree with Lupin,
There’s an awful lot of snow!
