The very last time we gave a box of chocolates to my mother, we left her with them for a few minute and came back to find that every one had been bitten in half. “Well of course I had to taste them to see what flavors they were!”  Sensible in a way, so we just took the box away for a bit and let her choose any 3 (halves) after each meal.

The novel FORREST GUMP begins with the line, “Bein’ an idiot ain’t no box of chocolates.” (That gives you an idea of how dishonest the movie version was!)

You don’t have to know what all of the shapes and swirls mean, just for the ones you don’t like. Unless you are really picky. In that case, just buy ‘fun’ sized candy bars.

My sister’s favorite saying is; first time sex is like the first snowfall. You don’t know when it will happen, you don’t know how long it will last, and you don’t know how many inches you’ll, but in the end you know it will be sloppy and wet.

Ooh, coconut! If I am lucky, I will get the coconut one! Coconut and maple are my favorites. I am really disappointed, it seems this past Christmas, both Russell Stover and Whitman’s stopped making the maple!

I have a couple. The older of the two is “I’m crazy. But that’s okay ‘cause everyone else is insane so I’m the only sane person in the world.” That goes back to my mid to late teens in high school. It’s possible to be crazy without being insane. And the other one is “Aardvark. No matter what the answer really is, the answer is always aardvark.” That’s more just for fun.

I have become a chocolate snob. Once one has tasted John & Kira’s, or Norman Love, or Jacques Torres or… or… one can no longer be happy with crappy supermarket chocolate unless under special circumstances, those being that it’s sitting here right in front of me…
