Now this story’s getting interesting. Did Ann reveal why she’s been such a female canine all these years? Will she become (dare I say it?) a sympathetic character? Time will tell.
“To My Darling Tom”. I am so happy that I’ve been able to spend the last few months of my life with you. Alas, I am terminal, so I will most likely not see next year. My life savings, and my inheritance have been converted into gold bars and ancient Mayan jewelry, and I’ve stashed it in a hidden place in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In the poem below, I have provided hints on where the strongbox is. I hope you can find it.
Just a thought, but what if Ann can be an evil witch but also be a woman who simply is head over heels for Tom and is willing to invest the time and trouble to make him feel physically and emotionally adored by at least one person on this planet? Sure, Tom has a needy, greedy, spoiled daughter, but perhaps the daughter can be made into a more independent, resourceful woman with a little tough love.
I dunno so much as sanitizing as maybe giving people a chance to redeem themselves. As in all good stories, the real characters are the ones with depth to them and really good ones are the ones that you hate, but through an arc you might learn to like or love.
As for Ann, I see her maybe going from a villain than needs to be punished to a decent antagonist to help others grow.
Ironically, this comic is actually making me feel for Tiffany rather than Ann. She genuinely looks sad and hurt that her Dad can be so happy and free with a woman that is constantly trying to make her life worse and worse, rather than her. I sincerely hope that was the intention though many of my fellow Luannatics seem to think otherwise.
“To my darling Tom” What does that mean? Guys never notice things like that unless?? Tiffany will read it for sure. What in tarnation does it mean. By the way I always comment on the story, but I think these panels are particularly beautifully drawn. The house is very nice, inside and out, grounds, Bentley, the bed(room). Nice backdrop.
For my darling Tom: I know you’ve always wanted a face, so I cut a male model’s face out of a GQ magazine and taped it on this photo of us. See, it looks like you have a face. He’s even smiling. You’re welcome. Love, Ann.
I want to play so I’ll take a stab at it; although I’m always wrong but usually interesting. I think Tiffany is going to find out that Ann is really her mom come back into Tom’s life. (Which, of course, would make Tiffany and Les half brother and sister! EW! EW! EW! LOL) Not knowing how Tiffany would react, Ann and Tom decided to keep Ann’s identity a secret. Ann decided that, after observing from afar, that Tom had spoiled Tiffany and has decided to administer “tough love” in her inept way. Far fetched? Not logical? What else? Lol
Tiffany still remember her mother ,So, Ann is not Tiffany’s mom.Nancy Degroot appears to be older than Ann Eiffel.Irma Berger Gray appears to be in the same age range of Ann Eiffel.Al Gray is appears to be older than Irma.
Uh-oh. What is on the back of the note…or is it the precursor to opening the back door and finding something inserted behind the picture? A dreadful secret?
Hmm. Can it be that Ann wrote that on the back of the infamous “customer list”? I don’t think she would be that careless, but one never knows. She might still be peddling the knock-offs to those on the list. A few days ago, I thought Tiff might find the list going through Ann’s stuff, then things took a turn.
So, what happens next? Will Tiffany finally realize that Ann and Tom are in love and then decide not to ruin it for them, or will she find something to use against Ann to make her dad realize what she’s really like, or will she realize that Ann’s not as bad as she thougth she was?
Maybe it’s a confession of all she’s done and she put it there for Tom to find because she thought she might go to jail. When that didn’t happen, she forgot about the note. Tiffany finds it when she’s house sitting. Tiffany now keeps the note and uses it as leverage to keep Ann out of her life. The End.
A mysterious hidden letter with who knows what secret on it… The prove that Ann truly love Tom with all her heart, or what? To be sincere, an evil character capable of being really in love with someone is beautiful. I know Ann is horrible, but if she and Tom love each other, it’s a good thing for them to stay together.
This arc is getting so tiring. I was hoping Al would show up during the ruckus at the Fuse and put his sister in her place, then call his attorney friend Tom Ferrell for a little chat. Yes, they are related…Al is Les’ uncle and Ann is his mother, in case anybody forgot.
Personally, I’d like to see what Knute and Crystal are up to these days.
This note is: 1) spilling the goods; 2) admitting her initial con morphing onto true love; 3) some ploy to cement Tom’s love; 4) a good by letter; 5) anything else,
In any case, a taped note conveniently falling from the back of a picture of the “loving couple” it is really contrived.
Dad is happy Tiff. And you’re a grown up. You’re not entitled to his money by birthright. Maybe you need to learn a thing or two about getting what you want from your nemesis.
A couple of things as We approach the Saturday Cliffhanger:
1) After nearly four years of running around unchecked and getting away with just about EVERYTHING, would Ann leave an incriminating note haphazardly taped to the back of a photo frame with one lousy piece of tape??
2) Would Ann be STUPID enough to STILL have that incriminating customer “list” she got from Les still laying around? Plus leave a note in the house telling where it could be found?? THAT, ladies and Gentlemen, would be almost as DUMB as both Tiffany and Les NOT turning over that “list” to the police in the first place, and/or not making copies of it before turning it over to Ann.
3) Even if Tiffany DID find some evidence (AGAIN) to use against Ann, would she have the sense this time to PROPERLY use it?
Sometimes a note is just a note. This note could merely be a love sonnet from Ann to Tom, nothing more. Because if it ISN’T, then between all of her clothes now laying on the ground, and Tiffany finding the “goods” on her (AGAIN) Ann is going to wish she HAD locked that bedroom door. ;)
People seem to think Tiff is reading some text. i think she is just looking carefully at the photo and noticing some things. It seems significant that the gift note has fallen off (w/o Tiff noticing), implying that Ann will see it later on and know someone had picked up the picture. And what dirty secret is Tiff thinking of? that Ann has a son whom she abandoned or that she sold counterfeit lingerie to unsuspecting women? Tom likely knows about her story but she cries to make him sympathize with her plight, i.e. a poor waif-like destitute woman who could never afford to live much less raise her son. probably Ann has embellished some story of her life.
Okay, I know it’s a comic, but I find it hard to believe that a wealthy man would get involved with a woman without checking into her past, and with someone who doesn’t get along with his only child. He wouldn’t be rich very long if he was that clueless.
If Ann had something to say to Tom why would she tape it to the back of a photo? He would not find it himself. I think this note is intended for Tiffany only.
What if Tom really does have financial problems and they are living on Ann’s money? Ann has always been good at conning/scamming people and she probably has her own money. Maybe Tom’s money is tied up for now with an SEC investigation and Ann is helping him out until he (and Ann) can get access to his money again. They would explain why Tom lets Ann control Tiffany’s money.
It doesn’t matter what that note says as it floats away from the back of the frame. It’s another manipulation. If Greg Evans is modeling after a real-life bully, then everything Ann Eiffel does is a ploy to get more money and status. Ann does not have the capacity to have any real feelings. She just plays at feelings. Her ploy now includes buttering up and seducing Tom because seduction is what bullies do in the beginning until they get their hooks in deep. Ann Eiffel could be modeled after my sociopathic sister-in-law.
Why would she paste a note to the back of a picture? Why not just leave it on the bed pillow? Oh well, we won’t know what happens next until sometime next week or whenever this story line returns.
I may have missed it but has anyone else recognizes a lot of similar traits between Tiff and Ann? Perhaps there may be a moment where this is recognized by one or the other or even both that may draw them closer for the one person they both (for now) love. I can easily see Ann, as a young adult, with Tiff’s attitude, personality and demeanor…just never got away from it…Perhaps Tiff can realize what she may become without a change…
Ok all of you, look at Tiffany’s eyes. Perhaps it’s Ann"s receipt from her last meal at the restaurant showing a generous tip for Tiffany. If there is a matching receipt at the restaurant plus what went thru on the card plus video at the restaurant, Tiffany could flip it around on Ann as leverage.
A terrible thought just occurred to me… Let’s think for a moment…
Ever since Ann Eiffel came into his life, Tom has been ignoring his daughter. After the lingerie scam, he immediately sided with Ann. When Tom left Tiffany to have lunch with Ann, Ann mentioned something about bath oils. Most of the time, Ann would not let Tom and Tiffany be alone together, but on the one time that they were, everything Tiffany said about Ann went in one ear and out the other. He always took Ann’s side with everything!
So, what’s in the envelope…? … DRUGS!
Ann Eiffel has Tom Farrell on drugs. That’s how she’s controlling him.
Omigosh…what if that note or whatever it is, once turned over is a baby…sonogram?! Hey… stranger things have been known to happen, in the real world as well as the comic strips. :^)
How could Tom not have read it? Or if he did, it certainly didn’t affect him. If Tom didn’t notice it, Ann would have wanted a response. Tom must have seen it.
