It’s weird how happy he is

Les has learned from Punk the Kitten that loving someone small and vulnerable can feel good. I can see him wanting to shower the baby with all of the love his mother deprived him of.

honestly i’m skeptical that’s it’s even Tom’s at all if it is real. Ann is the type of person to lie about something like that. a normal would wouldn’t and we aren’t seeing her say anything as of yet. my question as i was thinking about this this weekend was why did Ann put that photo behind a picture? Seriously i’m not married nor am i a father or a father to be etc…

but correct me if i’m wrong and i might be that if i woman wants to surprise the father with news like that, she’s gonna put that in a place he might find & in the back of a photo isn’t a place most would think to even go. i have photo’s of my Nice when she was a baby and when she was a toddler when she was 2 or 3 years old. i haven’t had anything more recent than that and she’s now 13! and it’s on my dresser and i barely even pick it up.

i dust the pics once in a blue moon but i rarely pick it up. my point is put it in a place Tom would find it like the Medicine Cabinet in the bathroom for example if he’s got one i mean. and if he’s got one no doubt he shaves everyday.

Les. I knew it was about time for “him” to show up.

It IS interesting to note his reaction in the last panel. As others have said, he seems almost pleased with the idea of being a “big bro.” Which is sort of strange and a tad bit unsettling considering Les has been known to pick on guys smaller than him.

Now assuming these two don’t come with some hair-brained idea to Tom and Ann up, what’s next? If Les really wants to be a big bro and “IF” Ann is really pregnant there’s a problem. Ann once wanted Les to be “family” and he flatly rejected the idea. I don’t think it’s likely that Ann is going to want Les around now that she may be giving birth to her next meal ticket. But NOW is the time for Les to show up at the Farrell mansion. Unexpectedly when Ann and Tom are THERE. It’s time Tom met Les. Tom SHOULD meet Les, because I’ll bet five bucks Ann hasn’t told Tom about Les yet. And I said that years ago.

Very soon, Les is going to get an invite to the Farrell mansion. He’ll look around at the opulence, the pool, the fact that he’ll be close to a little bro, or sis. And course, easy groping distance of you-know-who. Plus his very presence will drive Ann CRAZY if he decides to move in.

It will be a major win-win for Les. And an even BIGGER win for Gunther because he’d finally be RID of his roommate and have the Gulag all to himself. No more hustling dates out the window.

Which is precisely why almost NONE of the above will happen. ;)

Rumor speader! What does Tom Farrell know?

Looking back to June 3, Anne is not remotely pregnant enough for that ultra sound to be current.

When my parents told me that I was getting a little brother, my reply was, “But I want a horse!” Got the brother and a horse. Both were great.

This is a form of Russian roulette. The pregnancy question. One empty chamber, but five loaded ones. Toni is pregnant. Nancy is pregnant. Ann is pregnant. Irma is pregnant. Bets is pregnant. Give it a spin, and hope nobody wins the baby bump.

That first frame had me in stitches. Les – what a card.

If true (and we know it’s not) Tiff and Les would share a sibling.

Watching all this silliness from such a small group of people suddenly makes me feel better about myself.Next, Tiffany has just followed the simple instructions for getting into trouble.1. Open Mouth.2. Insert Foot.This one is going to bite her.

He should really just adopt this kid and get them away from Ann asap.

Assuming some of the comments about how far along Ann is(20 weeks) she should be showing evidence of pregnancy( a baby bump) but she’s not. So i for one don’t believe she is pregnant. I think she’s using her ultrasound from when she was pregnant with Les. But the truth will eventually come out when she’s due and she doesn’t go into labor.

But there is the possibility she COULD wait until her and tom are married—-then claim miscarriage.

This is quite a story arc, but it makes a weird kind of sense: Les and Tiffany share Ann already, whether they want to or not. Ann is pulling the biggest con of her life, making estranged Les the stepbrother of Tiffany. She might not really be pregnant, that looked like a pretty developed fetus to me for her not to be showing, but this grifter is capable of a lot of things. Les’s reaction? Not at all surprising. Stay tuned.

Whoa Tiff. Methinks you ought wait to confirm before announcing it to the world. It hadn’t occurred to you that it could be an old ultrasound of Les? Did you look at the date on it? Ultrasounds come with name of the patient and the date of the ultrasound. Or she could have ordered it from the "RobYourRichBoyfriend.com.

Leslie Knox’s reaction to Tiffany’s perhaps hasty (not to mention breathless) conclusion is much more muted. Kind of a nice contrast….

I think Tiff just made his day. In the part where his hearing went fuzzy, Tiff could have said, “Lets go to bed right now”, and it would not have registered.

I don’t think she’s pregnant. That ultrasound showed a pretty advanced pregnancy stage but she had no belly at all.

No! It means that she’s going to become a baby momma and take half of Tiffany’s dad’s stuff.

Something is fishy. Why was that ultrasound attached to the back of a picture frame? That’s something you do for OLD negatives of photos, so you don’t lose them. If this is new, I’m surprised the ultrasound image was not framed itself! Someone else has already mentioned that it might be an old one of Les. I dunno. But something stinks about this whole thing.

It could be a year old ultrasound and she’s had a miscarriage.

This should be interesting, I see this backfiring on Tiff in so many ways.

Les and Tiffany are going to be half siblings. When do the banjo players arrive on this strip? Eww…

Les would would be a lot less excited once he realizes that he would have to visit his mother in order to see his little sibling. I wouldn’t be surprised if the photo was fake and Ann set it up for Tiff to do something to get herself in trouble.

It all looks fishy. Tiffany May have reached the wrong conclusion or maybe it’s Ann trying to get Tom to marry her. The soap goes on.

WHAT!?!? Les’ reaction isn’t congruent with the character portrayed to this point. His reaction in the first panel is congruent. Not panel 3.

Let me get this straight! Les gets a cat, names it “Punk,” then magic happens in panel 2 and Les is transformed into a caring person. Yeah… no!

This is clearly a plant to get to tiff. which is why Ann wanted Tiff to clean the whole house while they where gone. How else would she know Tiff would move the pictures? One has to move them to dust right? suddently an intimate note to Tom conventantly falls off? yeah this is a complete plant of evidence to get tiffs tongue wagging. whole thing is a miss direct.

Awwwww. Looks like being an older brother has been Les’s secret wish for ages. It’s so sweet ♡. And Tiffany confirms, that was Ann’s room! So the theory that Tiffany was looking at photos of her mother with her father is finally denied. Now Les is happy and Tiffany is not happy about the arrival of the future baby sibling. Will this split the two friends or will an opinion prevail? After all, Tiffany also wanted to have a baby sister.

Les seems happy about the news.

It seems that Greg has thrown the arcs of Les and Tiffany together since June of 2017. At that time Gunther invites Tiffany to a dinner at Al and Irma’s with Les in attendance. Les makes a move on Tiff to Gunther’s chagrin, culminating in a salacious gesture by Les that Tiffany apparently reacts to positively. (https://www.gocomics.com/luann/2017/06/03)

Gunther subsequently warns Tiff about the crude character of Les. At which time the possibility of a Gunther and Tiffany romantic link fades slowly into the West.

Mordock999 has been steadfast preaching this as an inevitable hook up. He has never seemed more on point.

If this is true – and not just a more elaborate scam on Ann’s part – they’re going to be half-step-siblings… kind of poetic justice, really.

But what happens when Les realizes having a half-sibling means he can’t hit on Tiffany anymore?

OH! I get it!! Les is the new Gunther! “100% pure gentleman. Respectful, decent, kind, honorable.”

BAH! HUMBUG!

I really don’t think she is pregnant. Either way, it is a scam of hers. As for Les, he thinks at last there is someone who can look up to him.

Whether this is a scam or not….Joy is in the eye of the beholder…

I guess, knowing and following this stripe for many years, that she’s not P. G. the picture is from someone else and she is using her pregnancy to get Tom’s money.

Of ALL the characters (excluding Brad and Toni) the only one who has shown any real emotional growth and maturity…Les??? Go, figure.

It’s possible that the ultrasound picture was advanced artistically many weeks so it would be clear to readers what it actually is. A very early picture is not very recognizable as a potential baby. Really early on, it’s just a few cells, mostly roundish and no form towards anything apparent at all. But showing us a head, a tiny body, it’s very clear what it’s supposed to be. Of course, whose it is – who knows yet?

Sweet response by Leslie. He looks like he is looking forward to it. My beloved Tiffany seems to be mainly worried about the permanence of the result and the competition for affection. My granddaughter didn’t want a baby sister — until she had one. I am fond of all children, even those not as sweet as mine (which is pretty much the rest of them although come come extremely close).

… Or Ann is lying again.

So we don’t know if Tiffany retrieved Ann’s clothing that Tiff threw out. If she didn’t, Tiff needs to work on her exit strategy.

Please, please less Tiff more Luann in future story arcs.

First mistake, Tiff—you don’t KNOW Ann’s pregnant. Second mistake: Telling other people. Especially Les.

Is there any chance that image is of Tiffany and the handwriting is actually her mother’s, and Tom stuck that on the back of the picture for some reason?

Same arc revised to new temporary locale? Les’s expression is priceless. He doesn’t even hear Tiff after that revelation. And he believes it. Wonder what Tiff thinks “it” means? Seems she thinks it’s true as well. More discussion will probably provide more doubt. Will they share this surprise with the rest of the gang? Or will Les contact his mother. That is a stretch of the imagination. Oh! The suspense!! §:-D

I am NOT surprised by Lee’s reaction at all. I half expected Tiffany to feel the same way. A baby has a way of smoothing over a lot of hurt and pain——at least at the moment. Dark things have a way of popping up their ugly heads later on if they aren’t resolved but it’s hard to dislike or resent a new life. Looks like Tiffany will get a chance to become a big sister after all. Hope she’s up for it! Once the baby is born and Ann has firmly supplanted Tiffany in Tom’s life she may relax and may be a little kinder toward Tiffany. After all, Ann and Tom will now have a child of their own so Tiffany is no longer a threat to her. Her position in Tom’s life will be secure. At least that’s how a lot of women like this feel. And often, it turns out to be true. Even if a man grows unhappy with a woman later on, if he is rich he will go out of his way to provide for them. But I see Ann keeping him happy for a while.

From Wayne Manor to the Bat Cave, I suppose. Clearly, Tiffany’s house sitting arrangement is either (one) over or (two) didn’t consist of solitary confinement. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was (one).

Also, while many of us have cried Fake News over Ann’s alleged pregnancy, as VioletBay says, above, only G&K know that for sure.

A third possibility is, as others suggested Saturday, is that the fetus in question is somebody else’s, heaven knows whose, some speculating either Tiffany’s or even Les’.

Anyone see Ann milking it for all it’s worth? Especially with a still birth.

Yeah, the way its going right now, I wouldn’t lay odds its a real pregnancy. Then again, I only have bad feelings about Ann, so my analysis maybe biased.

While most fans are singing Kumbaya and throwing frisbees over Les, Tiff, Tom and Ann possibility becoming “One Big Happy,” you might want to remember this:

Ann wanted Les to be a “family” and Les slammed the door right in her face. Now I know We’re supposed to have “selective memories” when it comes to certain characters in this Strip, but consider for a moment what this family will consist of:

1) A (a-hem) Lad with a troubled past and anger issues.

2) A woman that’s a known con artist and liar that treats EVERYONE with contempt.

3) A father that has shown ZERO love toward his daughter.

4) And daughter who even though she now has her insufferable ego in check, has been reduced to the “lowest common denominator” by forces that are now beyond her control.

Do you really think a baby is going change this group for the better??

Nice use of fading lettering to indicate Leslie’s loss of interest in panel 2.

I find it puzzling that many think Ann’s pregnancy is some scam and not really true, that she is using this for other scheme. From the point of view of the person(s) (G&K) creating the strip, which is a lot of work, why would anyone plan whole arcs, plots, relationships between characters only to have them all reverse course? Tiffany has been on a journey toward becoming an independent decent human being. Ann (like her or not) has been and is part of that equation. Tiff’s realization that Tom loves her and that they are going to have a baby is the latest turn of events driving Tiff into her own life, her own circle of friends and goals. Tom is not going to suddenly realize that Ann is no good and be re-united with Tiff, whereupon Tiff returns to some opulent home lifestyle. He is not going to suddenly have a face. Ann IS the face of Tom Farrel. Moreover, Ann’s marriage to Tom and her pregnancy (whether an actual baby is born in comic strip time) serves to make Les and Tiff part of the same family; they won’t have any romantic relationship; they will be brother or sister to this baby and by extrapolation brother and sister to each other.

So…

After the picture was discovered, did the clothes get put back?

Ann Eiffel in Les’ MOTHER??? I missed the comic when we learned that!

First of all, Ann is not pregnant. Secondly, Tom hasn’t made that mistake in 19 or 20 years with Tiff’s mother, so he might be a stud, but he’s not careless. Tom’s got money, nice car, big expensive house in a classy neighborhood (I’m still looking for the fence and gate). And, most interesting, Tiff’s mom disappeared. Does Tiff hear from her? Pay attention, Ann, Tom might have made her disappear…..permanently. Ann could become one of those missing ladies that People Magazine write feature stories about.

Baby on the ultra sound picture is too far along for Anne not to be showing. I have a feeling this is his baby that she is going to use against him to get half his fortune.

Hey folks — is it possible that Greg simply exaggerated the size and detail of the fetus just so there’s no mistaking what’s on the ultrasound?

That said - I can see a humorous-but-dark series of strips over the next few weeks:1. Tiffany plans to show the ultrasound to Nancy. Nancy isn’t there, so Tiffany leaves it for her to see.2. Frank finds the ultrasound. Freaks out. Goes to confront Luann.3. Luann denies any knowledge. She then says, "It’s not me - so that means it must mean that mom —4. Frank goes ash white. Luann makes a snide comment about how she didn’t realize that mom and dad still…you know. Frank replies that OF COURSE they do, but he thought he and mom’s little accessories had reached their expiration points.5. As Frank contemplates being in his 70s when the child has graduated from high school, Luann takes the ultrasound to show to Brad. Brad’s not home, so she leaves it for him to see.6. Brad finds it, thinks it’s Toni’s, and is on Cloud 9.7. Toni denies it’s hers; Brad is crushed.8. The ultrasound somehow makes its way to Gunther, who, realizing Tiffany’s recent, strangely stressed out behavior, believes it’s hers. Of course, Tiffany denies the whole thing, and can’t believe the image made its way back to her.9. Lex ends up showing the ultrasound to his uncle, who takes one look at it and says, “Oh, THIS thing? That was the one your mom showed me when she told me about you. Wherever did you find it?”10. And like sands through the hourglass, so go the days of our lives…

What I am curious about is why hasn’t anyone reported her to the authorities so that she can be arrested? Poor delusional Les, as if she would let him anywhere near the baby, if there is a baby.

I’m very disappointed in this arc so far. Tiffany is again spreading gossip, in this instance based on ‘information’ she gained by snooping in her father’s bedroom and reading a private message from her father’s live-in lover. A message that was not out in the open.

It’s not Tiffany’s business to go blabbing about this to anyone, regardless of what Ann is like….

Unless the Pregnancy is yet another Annie Awful Scam.

My ultrasounds had dates on them and what week in the pregnancy. I suppose that could be faked. But if that info isn’t on the pic, I’d be suspicious.

I suspect a scam. Not really Ann’s – just a ploy to funnel money into her accounts or to get into the will, then she offs him.

I think she just wants to get Tiffany out of their lives then live the good life with her rich husband and possible baby.

As Schroedinger’sDog said earlier, “I can’t see Ann sacrificing her trim body to the ravages of childhood.”

I can’t either, actually. Especially since she’s probably pushing 40 by now, and a pregnancy would likely be harder on her and the body she’s apparently working hard to maintain… AND the body that she no doubt sees as part of what keeps her in Tom’s mansion.

So what if the ultrasound is not hers, but that of a surrogate she and Tom have hired to carry their baby?

That still leave them with the responsibility of cleaning spit-up, changing diapers, and otherwise raising a child, however.

And it still leave another threat to Tiffany’s place in her father’s heart, home, and will.
