Triton (Τρίτων) is a Greek god of the sea, the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea respectively. Triton lived with his parents, in a golden palace on the bottom of the sea. Later he was often depicted as having a conch shell he would blow like a trumpet.

The spoiler would be Luann or probably Ben?

And this qualifies as romantic writing?

A sexy, watery dream sequence with hunk needing love Merman Jack, and fetching, erotic (they both are erotic) pulsating with attracting desire Bernice, well! Sexy hilarity ensues! Or more.

Panel #3. Is that a white, sea worm coming out of her hair? And her bra…..old hand grenades found on a sunken war ship? Appropriate, because they’re duds, too.

Unfortunately she’s falling for a guy that’s a close friend of Luann. And as long time readers know, that when you go up against Luann where a guy is concerned, Luann ALWAYS wins. ALWAYS. Just ask Tiffany.Miguel, Quill, Aaron Hill, even that annoying cockroach Elwood Druit. ALL preferred Luann. The only “Hope” Bernice has is that Luann isn’t the least bit interested in Jack. And even THAT is no guarantee. Luann, at times, wasn’t all that interested in Gunther. Yet she almost always got “territorial” when Gunther turned his attention to other women.

But hey. That was then, and this is now. Someone should tell Ms. Bernice that Mr. Jack likes to model nude and invite her to his next modeling session in professor Zebo’s class.

Heh. Bernice would shatter like a store front window during a riot.

I take it back; this may be the beginning of Bernice losing her v-card arc. She’s definitely pining away for Jack way more than she did for PIro.

I looked at the 9/6/2018 strip that was mentioned by Mordock999 -interesting in that Luann states she and Jack are just friends. She has actually made that declaration many times. Hopefully for Bernice it is true! To all the people who are panting to see a sexual relationship portrayed in this comic, you are going to be disappointed. Not going to happen. All these two are going to do is MAYBE some flirting, and it should take at least two years to get that far. I still think it would have been far more appropriate for Nancy to give Bernice something like Jane Austin books for an introduction to romance. Bernice needs to learn how to navigate relationships, but okay, mermaids are cute. This entire storyline will be abruptly abandoned very soon. The really interesting thing I noticed about some of the strips from that 2018 time period was that Shannon was older and speaking normally. No lisp, no baby talk, normal. It’s too bad they regressed her character back several years.

This has nothing to do with today’s strip, but….what the heck ever happened to Delta? She went off to college and everyone forgot about her? She never comes back to visit, no one ever mentions her name. It’s weird.

They don’t have to get their feet wet. They can just dive in!

What a beautiful dream♡♡♡! Beatrice that comb her hair using a cutlery like a modern Disney’s “Little Mermaid” is funny and a great reference. As a child, Bernice must have seen who knows how many times the movie loving it. Now everything comes out thanks to the romance novel suggested by Nancy. I hope this dream continues and shows other characters of the strip (or at least Luann and Ben) in mermaid form♡♡♡.
